Exponential model

y= a*b^x

when it is a % interest
Y=a(1+r/100)^t

Exponential model, don’t forget to add or subtract from 1 if it is in %

Linear Model

Slope, rate of change, rate, per person, per dollar ,

the change in y value when x is increased by 1

SLOPE FROM STANDARD FORM -B/A

Equation of a line

Y INTERCEPT (0,B)

X INTERCEPT (X,0)

In which b is the value of the y variable when x is 0

Parallel lines have same slope, only in y= form

Perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slope only in y =form

No solultion parallel lines, same ax same by and different constant

Infinite solutions same equation or multiple

1 GLASS=8 ONCES

GEOMETRY

TRIANGLE MEASURES 180

QUADRILATERAL MEASURES 360

A CIRCLE MEASURES 360 and 2Pi

A LINE MEASURES 180

A TANGENT LINE TO THE CIRCLE FORMS 90 DEGREE WITH RADIUS

SINE A= COS (90-A) when angle A +angle B =90

To find the radius or the length of a segment in the coordinate plane given 2
coordinates

Equation of the circle

Using proportions in the circle, find the fraction

Formula (Slice/Area = Arc/Circumference = Measure of Inner Angle/360)

QUADRATIC

All 3 Quadratic Identities (unfactored to factored form)

(x2-y2) =(x+y)(x-y)
x2+2xy+y2=(x+y)2
x2-2xy+y2=(x-y)2

Quadratic formula
FIND THE VERTEX OR MAXIMUN OR MINUMUM -B/2A OR (X1+X2)/2

FIND THE VERTEX OR MAXIMUN OR

MINUMUM -B/2A OR (X1+X2)/2

Speed, distance time

 If given the average
 Mean x number of items =value in the sum

 Find the mean from a table with frequency

Revenue amount sold items * price

Y=(-mx+b)x
Maximun price or maximun revenue use line of symmetry

-PYTHAGOREAN TRIPLES.

These are particular types of Right Triangles that just happen to have exact
integers as sides. The SAT loves to use them, so know them by heart and save
yourself the trouble of calculating all those roots.
Here are the ones they use:

triangles
The sum of two sides of a triangle must be larger than the third side
And the difference of two side smaller than the third side

Always sin A=Cos (90-A) which is the complementary (add to 90)

A line tangent to the circle forms a 90 degree angle with the radius
All triangles measures 180 degrees
A circle measures 360
Quadridateral measures 360

 Probability = (Desired Possibilities / Total Possibilities)

 Function notation
Composition of functions

 “Y LESS THAN X”
(for example, “x-7” is the correct mathematic translation of “7 less
than x.” Be careful because many students will write this as “7-x”,
which is incorrect.)

THE WORD “OF.” (“of” always means multiply.)

 REMAINDER. Remainder is the whole number that’s left over after

division. For example 8/3 equals 2 remainder 2. `

 Within 10 hours means +10 or -10 hours

 At least means Greater or equal

 No more means smaller or equal

 Know the squares

 Know the cubes
