RATIONALE

Teachers are one of the most powerful sources for helping children cope with
gender bias. By being aware of gender bias, they can help children deal with this
conflict and respond to intolerance in the real world. It is one of the goals of
Pantukan Elementary School to become gender sensitive. To achieve this goal, the
school conducts training, activities, seminars and LAC sessions every year using
the budget allocated for Gender and Development.

II. PROPOSED TRAINING FOR FY 2023

A. 5. Training Rationale
Child Friendly schools drastically decrease or eradicate frequent
physical treats and other kinds of violence occurring in and around schools and
learning environments, such as physical punishments by teachers, student-on-
student abuse, gang wars, bullying, sexual assaults, other types of gender-based
abuse and outside group schools’ assaults. Child-friendly schools must work with
parents and other organizations to prevent abuse. Teachers are crucial to our
children’s education and safety.
The Two-day Seminar Workshop on Gender and Development:
Focused on the Protection of Children and Women in the Workplace. Mental
Health Awareness will enable the teacher – participants to learn how to deal with
physical and verbal violence against children in the school where they are teaching
and be aware of the symptoms of distressing ailments.

A. 6. Objective:
These Two-Day Seminar Workshop aims to provide appropriate knowledge,
skills, and attitude for the participants to be able to:
 Identify the Gender-based Violence among Children and Women
 Discuss on how to protect children and women at school against violence
 Make lesson plans integrating GAD focusing child protection
 Identify mental and physical health illnesses
 Learn how to avoid or prevent the mental and health illnesses

Lesson Plans/ DLL Integrating GAD

A. 8. Methodology:

a. Submit Training Design and secure approval from the Division Office for
the conduct of the Seminar Workshop
b. Prepare School Memorandum to the participants
c. Conduct Monitoring and Feed back
d. Conduct Evaluation and Validation of Objectives
e. Submission of Report and Recommendation
