This science lesson plan discusses the sexual reproduction of animals in the 5th grade level. It will teach students about fertilization, both internal and external types. The lesson will begin with a review game about human reproduction. Students will then solve riddles to introduce the topic of animal reproduction. Examples of how different animals like frogs, fish, dogs and cats reproduce will be presented. Formative assessments include group activities to identify if animals have one or two parents, and what type of fertilization they undergo. The lesson aims to help students understand sexual reproduction and proper care for pregnant pets.
