LAND ASAP

Depending on the failure, LAND ASAP or LAND ASAP can be displayed, in

the right column of the E/WD.

LAND ASAP: Land as soon as possible ay the nearest airport at which a

safe landing can be made. It is applicable to a time critical
situation.

LAND ASAP: Consider landing at the nearest suitable airport.

COMMERCIAL ASPECTS……….……….CONSIDER
Use the FMS for situation assessment:
• Estimation of the Landing Weight (LW) i

• Determination of the nearest suitable airport i

BACK

INCREASED FUEL CONSUMPTION…..EVALUATE

Refer to eQRH/OPS

FMS TRIP FUEL = FOB - FMS EFOB at DEST

• If only one Fuel Penalty Factor (FPF) is applicable:

TRIP FUEL PENALTY = FMS TRIP FUEL x FPF
• If two on more Fuel Penalty Factors (FPF) are applicable:
TRIP FUEL PENALTY = FMS TRIP FUEL x
(FPF1+FPF2+…+FPFn)
• The flight crew must manually calculate the Fuel Predictions to
take into account the Trip Fuel Penalty:
ACTUAL TRIP FUEL = FMS TRIP FUEL + TRIP FUEL PENALTY
BACK

LANDING PERFORMANCE…..CALCULATE

Use the FlySmart/Landing module to calculate and confirm the landing

performance at the requested airport/airports.

• Insert the Wx information and RWY

condition as appropriate.
• Insert the applicable failure/failures.
• If necessary, you can refer to
FlySmart/OLB/eQRH/In Flight Performance,
or LIDO document library for the Landing
Performance Assessment Tables.
BACK

ESTIMATION OF THE LANDING WEIGHT

• Provided the F-PLN page is completed (including ARRIVAL page, without any F-
PLN DISCONTINUITY etc) use the EFOB at DEST to calculate the LW: [GW-
(FOB-EFOB)].
• Consider any fuel consumption increment (refer to eQRH/OPS).
• The LW is the entry point of the VAPP determination and Landing Distance
Calculation, either via the FlySmart/Landing module or via the paper QRH
tables.
• On aircraft fitted with THALES FMS, LW can be found via the SEC F-PLN: copy
active, then SEC F-PLN INIT-B page you can see the LW.
• EFOB at destination is displayed on the F-PLN page and the FUEL PRED page.
BACK

DETERMINATION OF THE NEAREST SUITABLE

AIRPORT

• Use the CLOSEST AIRPORTS page. This page displays the four nearest
airports, sorted according to their distance from the aircraft.
• BRG, DIST, ETA and EFOB (second page) are provided for each airport.
• A fifth airport can be manually inserted.
