AUTOBIOGRAPHY

I will share the story of my life, who I am and what I have gone through in
eighteen years I live in this world.
I am Kent Jayrald Lim, eighteen years old and I live in Sara a town in Iloilo
city. I am studying at San Juan Academy Inc. and I am a Grade 12 student.
And some may wonder why my last name is Lim, because I have a Chinese
blood which is from my father. And my father is Florante Lim and my mother
is Meneirva D. Lim. My father was born in Sara, Iloilo and my mother is from
and was born in province of Pangasinan, basically she came from the town
of Binmaley.
I also have a younger brother Karl Jayson Lim, he is fifteen years old and
we only go to the same school. And he is a Grade 10 student, sometimes we
fight but we also get along because our parent scold us. But even though we
have many things we do not agree with, I love my youngest brother.
Currently, my parents are unemployed but they have a food business.
That we only sell every morning, even though my parents making a living
like that, we can eat three times a day. And we are losing money for other
expenses, that even though I was born out of poverty my parent had a
dignified job.
And I am a teenager who loves to listen and watch Korean dramas and
kpop music, as well as chinese dramas and there music. That is my pastimje
and relieves stress in my mind and body, that even though there people
asking me.” Why I am watching and listening to such things? You do not
understand that.”
Even though I don’t understand, Im still happy because I learned
something from them. That they are the ones who inspired me to study
hard and keep on dreaming. As well as they did that they preserved to
achieve their dreams as a singer and actors. And I believe that even though
our cultures and l an gauges are different, we will be one because of music
and art because of our talents and abilities are the same. There are things
that they can do and we cant do and there are things that we can do and
they cant do.
So because of the artist I watch and admired and I know what they went
through before they became successful. I realized that not everthing in this
world, cannot be bought and it is not rushed. You have to workd hard to
achieve your goal, so I will work and I will be a teacher. To help young
people ang my family, so that we can have a good life without having to sell
a food for our food business of my parents. Because I feel sorry for them,
because I feel and I see that they are tired but they become strong for our
family. So I will study hard and I will be able to finish college for them and
foy my good and bright future.
Because I believe that when you work hard for something. It will feel you
achieved that you were proud of. I mean there will be a good outcome, if
you work hard. And the most important is you believed in yourself and of
course love yourself.
Despite being cheerful and positive, I also experienced bullying, especially
when I was in elementary school. That when I just pass by I don’t really lose
the ridicule of my fellow kids. Especially with men because they say I’m not a
straight man and I act soft. And because of that, my self-confidence dropped
during those times. Because I was so hurt by what they were telling me.
It was as if I had done something bad to them, because the way they treat
me is very harsh. And I was always asking myself why I wasd born this
way/like this. That in other people’s eye, I was unlucky and had no
destination in life. That I would just be like those like me on the outside. And
because of that sometimes when I saw someone, that literally just like me or
we have same situation, and he or she is confident walking on the street,
that he or she doesn’t care about what other people say.
And I realized I should be confident and embrace who and what I am as a
person that don’t let other people criticized me because of my identity that
they should criticized me because of what I have achieved in life. And I’m
the type of person who is easily hurt but when I retaliate I give deouble the
pain to the person who hurt me. And when it comes to housework,
sometimes I work hard at doing housework. But when I’m lazy that’s why
my mom and dad scold me. Because I’m lazy, of course I admit that I’m lazy
but only occasionally.
But in spite of everything I have gone through in life from getting sick
when I was a child that I almost died, I have always thanked God for the
second life he gave me.
And no matter what happens to me in the future and no matter what
decision I make, I know that my family is there to support and respect my
decision. This is my life, I know that the information is not very informative
because I’m still not ready to share it because of how dark those memories.
That I’m still scared, that everytime I think about it it is very sad and dark.
But despite of those memories that I have, I’m still a very strong person
because I know that I have God and my family.
