1) When creating a research title, it is important to consider that the title will be the "first detail" or "face" of the paper that readers see. An effective title should be simple, direct, accurate, specific, interesting, and informative enough to encourage readers to learn more.
2) Keywords in the title are important for searchability and accessibility. Relevant keywords should be at the beginning of the title.
3) To develop a title, researchers should consider answering questions like "What is my paper about?", "What methods did I use?", "What was the subject?", and "What did I find?". The title should indicate the focus and key results.

Research Title
Presented by Tiangha, Zedrick Lyrad
TOPIC How to Create a Research Title THINGS TO CONSIDER When a reader browses through a Research Paper (hard copy or on a website), the title is the “ first detail” or “face” of the paper that is read. Hence, it needs to be simple, direct, accurate, appropriate, specific, functional, interesting, attractive, concise, focused, memorable, captivating, informative (enough to encourage the reader to read further), unique, catchy, and should not be misleading. THINGS TO CONSIDER It should have “just enough details” to arouse the interest and curiosity of the reader so that the reader then goes ahead with studying the abstract and then (if still interested) the full paper. Journal websites, electronic databases, and search engines use the words in the title (keywords) to retrieve a particular paper during a search; hence, the importance of these words in accessing the paper by the readers has been emphasized. THINGS TO CONSIDER Such important words (or keywords) should be arranged in the appropriate order of importance as per the context of the paper and should be placed at the beginning of the title (rather than the later part of the title, as some search engines like Google may just display only the first six to seven words of the title). It is a good idea to create the title after the research is complete. BRAINSTORMING Use the following questions to help you formulate a suitable research paper title:
1. “What is my paper about?”
2. “What methods/techniques did I use to perform my study? 3. “What or who was the subject of my study?” 4. “What did I find?” EXAMPLE Research question Answer
“My paper studies how program volume affects outcomes
“What is my paper about?” for liver transplant patients on waiting lists.”
“What methods/techniques did I use to perform my study? “It’s a case study.”
“I studied 60 cases of liver transplant patients on a waiting
“What or who was the subject of my study?” list throughout the US aged 20-50 years.”
“My study revealed a positive correlation between waitlist
“What did I find?” volume and negative prognosis of transplant procedure.” TIPS TO CREATE A GOOD RESEARCH PAPER TITLE 1 2 3 4 Write the Make sure Use key title after Keep your your title is words and you finish title clear, at least 12 phrases writing your and concise words long from your paper paper TIPS TO CREATE A GOOD RESEARCH PAPER TITLE 5 6 7 8 The title Check The paper Draft multiple indicates whether the delivers research titles exactly what title reflects what the and choose the your the tone of title best one researching your paper promises MISTAKES TO AVOID
