The document discusses the components and functions of a basic computer system and network types. It provides definitions for: 1. The power button which is used to power the computer. 2. The motherboard which is the backbone that ties the computer components together and allows them to communicate. 3. The CPU which is the brain of the computer containing the circuitry to process data. 4. THE DIFFERENTS TYPES OF NETWORK:
LAN(local area network):is a group of computers connected to each other in an small
area such as building,office.
Is used to connecting twoor more personal computers through a communicationmeduim
such as
twisted pair(cable a pair torsadé, UTP:unshielded twisted pair),coaxial cable
PAN(personal area network) is a network arranged within an individual person
typically within a range of 10 meter.
example for personal area network:body area network, offine network, small home
office.
MAN(metropolitan area network) is a network that covers a larger geographic area by
interconnecting a different LAN to form a larger network

The straight cable is used to connect two devices of different types together
crossover cable is used to connect
UTP characteristics:
-unchielded
-twisted pair of insulated conductors
-covered by
-insulating sheath
