Fire Alarm System Limitations
While a fire alarm system may lower insurance rates, it is not a substitute for fire insurance!

1.1About This Manual
1.2System Overview
1.2.1Function Overview
1.2.2Database of N-VFT
For the convenience of users and improving the efficiency, the database of N-
VFT directly using MS Excel data tables, and generate the default Excel
automatically when creating a new project.
2.1System Requirements
N-VFT software is designed for systems running Windows 2000 Professional
SP2 or Windows XP Professional SP1 and higher systems, display resolution
should be set up to 1024 x 768, And a 9-pin RS-232C serial port.
For Windows 2000 operating system, need to install. NET FRAMEWORK and
MDAC; FOR Windows XP operating system, only need to install . NET
FRAMEWORK. Specific method of installation, see the following.
. NET Framework V1.1 installation consists of two parts: . NET Framework V1.1
and patching files.
Insert the N-VFT CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Double-click dotnetfx.exe on the N-VFT CD, and follow the screen prompts to
complete the installation.
Double-click NDP1.1SP1-K867460-X86.exe on the N-VFT CD, and follow the
screen prompts to complete the installation.
2.2Installation of N-VFT
Insert the N-VFT CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Double-click Setup.exe on the N-VFT CD, and follow the screen prompts to
complete the installation.
After N-VFT installation is complete, Windows will create a desktop shortcut
automatically.
2.3Connect with Control Panel
N-VFT connects with the control panel through RS-232C port. Please use the
cable attached with equipment to connect the PC serial port with the CRT
communication port of control panel.
Cautions: When the first time running N-VFT, it takes a long time
for .NET FRAMEWORK to load the compiler.
3.3Select Task
Unfold the “Select Task” list in the left side to choose the operation, as shown in
the figure below:
Once the control panel parameters are modified, the relative parameters pages
will show a "*" tips. Before built the database user need to save the modified
parameters, click the in menu bar, the "*" will disappear automatically after
All orders are executed.
3.4.2Download Database
After modify and save the parameters, build the database format which can be
accepted by control panel first to download the information to the control panel.
To improve efficiency, N-6000 control panel’s download database used the form
of distribution, that is, each main component has its own databases, Including:
System Summary, General Zone, Logic Zone, MCU, DCU, RPT, LCM,
Download/Upload etc.
Click “Download/Upload” in the “System Task”, enter the following interface:
Click “System Summary” to activate the page, and then display the interface
below:
Click the “General Zone” to activate the page, and then display the interface

“Control Panel configuration Parameter” area display all 30 LCMs and 1000
LCM points configuration information, “Parameter Modify” area also be activate,
list the current parameter of the selected LCM and LCM point, as shown in the
figure below:
3.4.10MCU Setup
Click “MCU Setup” to activate the page; enter MCU and MCU point parameter
setting interface, as shown in the figure below:
Fig. 3-26 MCU Parameter Interface
“Control Panel configuration Parameter” area display all 32 MCUs and 544 MCU
points configuration information, “Parameter Modify” area also be activate, list
the current parameter of the selected RPT and RPT point, as shown in the figure
below:
3.4.11RPT Setup
Click “RPT Setup” to activate the page; enter RPT and RPT point parameter
setting interface, as shown in the figure below:
3.5Software Update
The software of N-6000 system is saved by FLASH, user can download update.
As shown in the figure below:
Fig. 3-32 Software Update Interface
3.6Virtual Console
VFT also provide function of “Virtual Console”, it can do some easy operations
to control the panel. This point is convenient for field install and debug.
User can do these operations such as silencable, confirm, reset, event manage,
synchronous.
Click “Options/Login” to login the control panel. As shown in the figure below:
Cautions: node number must be same with the control panel node number.
3.6.2Operation of Virtual Console
Virtual Console includes: Terminal and Current Events. As shown in the figure
