METHOD STATEMENT

DEMOLITION OF CONCRETE WALL - MIRINDRA & GASITSARA

The following method statement describes the major tasks and work steps to be performed. It is the
responsibility of the project personnel to that all relevant safety measures are closely adhered to, work is
performed by qualified, experienced, and well-trained personnel, and to coordinate activities with the
concerns.

STEPS

1. Prestart
- Toolbox talk related to demolition work.
- Fill and complete Take5

2. Barricading the work area


The work area will be barricaded to avoid unnecessary entrance of non-concern people.
- Solid barricades will be setting in the area who people can have access.
- Spotters will be in charge to regulate the entrance of the work area.
- Put warning signs of demolition work in progress or no entry.

3. Preparation of equipment
- Check engine and equipment.
- Equipment inspected and operators certified.
- Operators fit for work.

4. Clearance of equipment in the vicinity (vehicles)


Due to risk of flying object or projection from demolition
- Evacuate vehicles in the parking to safe areas.

5. Worksite asses
- Make sure no electrics are installed or underground water pipe.

6. Demolition of concrete wall with backhoe loader or excavator


- Presence of guide
- Work under supervision of foreman
- All windows of the machine must be closed during the operation to avoid any projection coming
from the demolition.
- Only the machine and its operator may approach the wall during the demolition.
- Demolition from top to bottom
- No one may enter the work area until all walls have been demolished.
- Always ensure that flagmen are always posted on site to alert people who live around or those
who will be passing through the work area.
- No unauthorized persons in the vicinity of my demolition operation zone

7. Disposal of materials - removal & cleaning up work area


- Pick up all product from demolition / rubbish from work area.
- Put all off debris and product from demolition into designated area provided on site.
