 TEMPORARY LIGHTING
1. Parsons to provide and install the following temporary lightings with assistance from SJC in the installation
and provision of sandbags to hold them in place:
a. RW6 and RW24 PAPI (2 sets) - New/Permanent RW6 PAPI may be used
b. RW6 REIL
c. RW6 and RW24 runway end lights
2. Runway edge lights spaced approximately 198 feet apart (64 total) - Flush mounted runway edge light at
RW6 turnaround area will be required.
3. RHB to install temporary runway distance remaining signs spaced 1000 feet apart (10 total) at North and
South Shoulders.
4. Parsons to remove the following existing electrical lightings and deliver to Kwajalein Electrical Shop:
a. Remove runway threshold and runway end lights, concrete handhole, base cans, concrete bases, 6.6A
transformers, #8 AWG 6.6A cables and connectors. SJC to remove concrete encased ductlines to
facilitate new work.
b. Remove Runway End Identification Lights (REIL), handholes, base cans, concrete bases, 600V cables
and connectors. SJC to remove concrete encased ductlines to facilitate new work.
c. Remove Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) lights at RW26, 6.6A transformers, #8 AWG 6.6A PAPI
cabling and connectors. Abandon ductline in place.

d. Remove Taxiways B, C and E edge lights, runway hold signs, directional signs, handholes, base cans,

ductline in place. SJC to provide expanding foam in existing underground ductlines to be abandoned in
place, 6” from base can/handhole/manhole entries.
5. SJC to fill existing base cans to be abandoned in place with concrete. Level top of concrete with adjacent
finished pavement/grade.

3. SJC to install concrete in electrical and communications ductline under North half of runway at Taxiway C
tapped from the already installed concrete ductline under South half of runway.
4. Parsons to replace 4.16KV primary circuit crossing runway at Taxiway C.
5. RHB to install temporary runway markings at South runway lane.
6. RHB to overlay new bottom and top lifts of asphalt pavement for runway.

until RHB reaches end of runway (Total of eight (8) markings).
8. Upon completion of asphalt pavement, RHB to obliterate temporary Lighted Runway Closure Marking “X”
painted in yellow.
9. RHB to remove unused runway threshold, runway end, runway edge and runway distance remaining signs.
10. SJC to install concrete in permanent ductlines and junction can plazas from the RW24 end to the new
Navaid building including the taxiway E crossing.
11. RHB to provide smooth riding connections at Taxiway B, Taxiway C L=25’ and Taxiway D L=50’.

3. RHB to overlay new bottom and top lifts of asphalt pavement for runway.
4. RHB to install Lighted Runway Closure Marking “X” painted in yellow on the newly laid asphalt pavement
until RHB reaches end of runway (Total of eight (8) markings).
5. Upon completion of asphalt pavement, RHB to obliterate temporary Lighted Runway Closure Marking “X”
painted in yellow.

7. SJC to place no. 57 size gravel for bedding compacted consistently under repeated passes of the
compaction equipment and overlay 15’ mil vapor barrier.
8. SJC to lay 1st fix for electrical, plumbing, fire protection (Wet and Dry System), mechanical AC and
ventilation, fuel pipes for generators embedded underground.

slab ready to received floor finish. Prepare rough surface with epoxy embedded dowels for 4” thick
minimum concrete pads at the following rooms:
a. Generator Room
b. Navaid Vault
c. Transformer Vault
d. Mechanical Enclosure 2
10. SJC to lay 1st fix for electrical, plumbing, fire protection (Wet and Dry System), mechanical AC and
ventilation embedded to RC walls.
11. SJC to install vertical galvanized reinforcing bars for the of the 8” thick RC walls, install forms and pour
concrete up to bottom of roof slab. Provide block outs for window, louver and door openings, mechanical
duct penetrations and pipe sleeves with trimmer bars.
12. SJC to remove forms for RC walls after 7 days.
13. SJC to lay 1st fix for electrical, plumbing and fire protection (Wet and Dry System) embedded to roof slab.
14. SJC to install forms for 10” thick roof slab and perimeter beams with 8” thick cantilever slab, install
galvanized reinforcing bars and pour 5,000 PSI concrete with calcium nitrite based corrosion inhibitor
admixture and crystalline waterproofing admixture.
15. SJC to remove side forms for beams after 7 days, for roof slab after 8-9 days, for cantilever slab and
beam soffits after 21 days.

EXCESS ASPHALT AND CONCRETE DEMOLITION MATERIALS STOCKPILE

Excess milled asphalt and demolition asphalt and concrete

pavement material shall be hauled and stockpiled at location
and spaces designated by the Contracting Officer. Location to
be provided by the Government.
