Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 10 Science Examination

I am writing to inform you that your son/ward will be taking a science examination on Monday 19
February.

The examination will cover all topics in biology, chemistry and physics that have been taught this
year. A detailed revision list will be uploaded on INSIGHT for your son/ward.

The examinations will take place in the following locations, depending on your son/ward’s science
class:

CLASS EXAM LOCATION CLASS EXAM LOCATION

10 Sc1 150 10 Sc4 250

10 Sc2 Hall 10 Sc5 Hall

10 Sc3 Hall 10 Sc6 Hall

Students are to head to their examination location immediately at the end of lunch, to ensure that
the 1 hour 30-minute examination starts on time. The examination is due to finish by 3.15pm.

Your son/ward will require the following equipment for the examination; none will be provided on
the day:

• Pen • Rubber
• Pencil • Calculator
• Ruler

The results of this examination will be used to determine any Year 10 GCSE set movements, so
it is essential that your son/ward spends time at home revising in preparation.

A few revision tools that your son/ward can use to study are:

• CGP revision guide

• Revision videos
• BBC Bitesize

Thank you for supporting your son/ward through this important period of time.

Yours faithfully,

Miss N Stead
