ABOUT INSTITUTION
National Sanskrit University, formerly Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, holds a distinguished
position as centre of Excellece in traditional Sastras in Tirupati. Established in 1961 as Kendriya
Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, the foundation stone was ceremoniously laid by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the then
Vice-President of India. The institution has been a blazer in Sanskrit studies, traditional sastras,
and pedagogy. Its primary objective, since inception, has been to seamlessly integrate traditional
Sanskrit education with modern scientific knowledge. In recognition of its academic excellence, the
university attained Deemed University status in 1987. The inauguration as a Deemed University in
1989 by Dr: R. Venkatraman, the then President of India, marked a significant milestone in its journey.
Acknowledging its commendable achievements and research potential in traditional sastras, the
institution was honoured with the designation of a Centre of Excellence in the field. Ina transformative
development, the Indian Parliament passed the Central Sanskrit University Act in March 2020. This
legislative move elevated Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha to the esteemed statusof a central university,
now recognized as the National Sanskrit University. This legislative endorsement underscores the
institution's commitment to preserving and advancing traditional knowledge, emphasizing its pivotal,
role asa custodian of Sanskrit heritage. Beyond its traditional focus, the university has demonstrateda
forward-thinking approach by establishing the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with
Computer Science, exemplifying its dedication to integrating classical wisdom with contemporary
disciplines.‘The Department of Mathematics at National Sanskrit University (formerly Rashtriya Sanskrit
Vidyapeetha), Tirupati, hosted three national workshops, each spanning five days, focusing on Ancient
Indian Mathematics. These workshops took place in September 2010, February 2012, and December
2014, with funding support from the Department of Science and Technology. These workshops
garnered active participation fromnumerous attendees hailing from different parts of the country, and
their experiences were immensely enriching, The proceedings of the inaugural workshop were
meticulously compiled and published as a dedicated publication of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The main aim of this National workshop is to provide the participants, for hands on experience in
modelling and solving fluid flow problems. Italso gives the understanding of analytical and numerical
methods for solving ordinary and partial differential equations. The workshop will mainly focus on
fundamentals concepts of fluid dynamicsand solving advanced fluid dynamics problems using various
analytical and numerical methods. By addressing these objectives, the National Workshop aims to
empower participants with a robust foundation in mathematical techniques and computational tools,
preparing them for challenges in diverse academic, research, and professional settings.
