Specific Guidelines:

1. The Routine must be performed, in its entirety to the music selected, prepared,
and submitted by the group.
2. The contest piece must be three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes
3. Groups should include in their performance a broad selection of street dance
styles without excessive use of the same move or pattern. A varied range of styles
should be shown in the choreography of arm, leg, and body movement.
4. Any kind of Street dance is allowed (locking, popping, krumping, house,
stepping, breakdance, waacking, tutting, vogueing, party dances, hip-hop
choreography) or any kind of dance with hip-hop as their focal thought of
choreography, provided that the choreographers of the group have the proper
knowledge or background to execute it properly.
5. Movements that are categorized under break dance are permitted but should not
control/ dominate the performance.
6. Any move where the competitors’ weight is solely on the neck/ head i.e. head
spins, headstands, etc. are not allowed.

Costumes and Props

7. Props that are not considered an integral part of a crew’s attire are prohibited (ex.
canes, chairs, tambourines, musical instruments).
8. Attire may include accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelry, etc.
Appropriate clothing should be observed in the competition.
9. Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is permitted provided it is
not offensive or out of character.

Music Requirements

 The music used in the routine must be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of
5 minutes.

 Participants’ competition music must be submitted through email at


alberto.rosario@ddosc.edu.ph with the group name.

 There is no maximum or minimum number of songs/recordings that may be used in


the routine and may be edited to enhance choreography and personal performance.

 The competition music must not contain inappropriate, lewd, or offensive language.

a. Choreography
(Creativity, Variety of Dance Styles & Difficulty) – 40%

b. Performance
(Musicality, Group Execution, Synchronization & Spacing) – 40%

c. Overall Effect
(Showmanship, Intensity, Projection, & Attire) – 20%
