Cultures Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Cultures" is a multifaceted endeavor that requires a delicate
balance of research, analysis, and personal reflection. The complexity lies in the vastness of the
subject matter itself – cultures encompass a myriad of aspects, including traditions, customs,
languages, art, history, and more. Navigating through this diverse landscape demands a thorough
understanding of various cultures, as well as the ability to synthesize information into a coherent
narrative.
One of the inherent challenges in tackling a "Cultures Essay" is the potential for oversimplification.
Each culture is unique, and attempting to generalize or stereotype can lead to a superficial portrayal.
Striking the right balance between showcasing the diversity within cultures while identifying
common threads requires nuanced thinking and meticulous research.
Additionally, addressing cultural sensitivity is crucial. Writing about cultures necessitates a high level
of awareness to avoid unintentional biases, stereotypes, or misrepresentations. It involves walking a
tightrope to present a respectful and accurate portrayal of diverse communities, acknowledging both
the strengths and complexities within them.
Moreover, the dynamic nature of cultures presents another layer of difficulty. Cultures evolve over
time, influenced by various factors such as globalization, technological advancements, and socio-
political changes. Keeping the essay relevant and up-to-date adds an extra challenge, requiring
ongoing research and the ability to integrate contemporary perspectives.
In essence, the difficulty in crafting a "Cultures Essay" lies not only in the vastness and diversity of
the topic but also in the need for precision, cultural sensitivity, and a nuanced understanding. It
demands a writer's commitment to thorough research, critical thinking, and the ability to weave
together a narrative that respects the intricacies of each culture discussed.

User Assistance Paper
User assistance is an important part of any product that helps to improve user experience
with a particular product. Many products that are released for global markets require that
user assistance help and documentation be translated in multiple languages for specific
target locales. This paper presents the process of optimizing user assistance help content
for translationin the following two categories: writing suggestions and technical
considerations.
Writing suggestions 1.Use a style guide. A style guide defines the grammar, syntax and
tone translators should use to facilitate a higher quality of translation and convey the
source content accurately.
4.Include universal units of measure. Different countries use different units of measure.
Lack of clearly defined units of measure can cause significant confusion and costly errors.
Therefore, it is important to include both metric and imperial measurements in the
documentation.
5.Include international phone and date formats. Because phone numbers and date
formats vary from region to region, these formats should be displayed correctly in the
source and translated copies of documentation. For example, in the U.S., phone numbers
are expressed as (425) 517 2577. However, international customers also need to know
the country code, which for the US is +1. Thus, displaying the phone number as +1
425.517.2577 helps international customers. Likewise, many countries use dd/mm/yyyy.
To avoid confusion, it is necessary to indicate clearly which date format is used or to

Teaching Strategies For Student Involvement Essay
The students in this class are fifteen to seventeen year olds with one eighteen year old. I
applied my Content and Pedagogy PGE to this lesson using teaching strategies I acquired
at the Argument Writing Workshop. For example, I began with an icebreaker called This
or That, reading aloud a series of controversial statements. Students who agreed with a
statement moved to one side of the room; those who disagreed moved to the other side.
Then students took turns explaining their choices. I also incorporated close reading
strategies covered at the workshop. I applied my Assessment PGE, using Lexile scores to
select texts and initially group students. One goal for the featured lesson was for students
to learn the language of argument writing (claim, counterclaim, ethos, logos, pathos,
etc.). I also wanted students to deduce an author s position in a text, cite supporting
evidence, and analyze text to identify rhetorical devices. I assessed the featured lesson by
observing student involvement in the discussions and reading the notes students took
over the course of the unit. The final assessment was for each student to write an
argument essay on illegal immigration. The broader context for this lesson was for
students to think critically, work collaboratively, and use effective communication skills.
I also wanted students to consider real world problems and gain respect for differing
viewpoints often based on cultural background and experience. Argument writing is the

Belonging Of A Sisterhood Of Arms
Belonging to a Sisterhood of Arms
Despite having been involved in the military since the American Revolution, women are
most often overlooked as being a soldier. While many people think it is respectful to go
up and thank a person for their service and duties in the military, most often they insult
women by not acknowledging them as a soldier, because society still sees military
personnel as a male based society. There is a fallacy to this stigma.
Almost anyone can point out a man who is in the service, whether or not he is in
uniform. Although it may not be easy to tell that I was a soldier in one point in time.
The main reason is, is because I am a woman. There are not many physical attributes for
a female that gives any tell tale signs like a person would see with a male member with
his high and thigh hair cut and freshly shaven face. The only sure way to know that I
was a soldier is if I had said so, or if I was seen wearing one of my uniforms with my
hair tied neatly in a low bun; however when I am in my civys (military term for civilian
clothes), it s almost impossible to tell unless one is very observant in human
behaviors. Another way to tell how a woman may be a military member is how we
talk; we usually use military jargon such as female/male , using the NATO alphabet,
FUBAR (F*** Up Beyond All Recognition) , and many others we may find reasons to
use in our civilian lives but can only find a military term to express how we feel about it.
Another way we can be
Business Case 06-12 Outsourcing Services, Inc.
Case 06 12 Outsourcing Services, Inc. Outsourcing Services, Inc. (OSI), a SEC
registrant, provides a variety of EDP and payroll processing services to third parties.
OSI recently has introduced a new service line to provide product help line support
services through customer service representatives (CSRs) who are employees of OSI.
On January 1, 2004, OSI entered into a service contract with Company X. Pursuant to
the terms of the contract, OSI s CSRs will provide technical support for Company X s
products. The contract has an initial term of one year and is not cancelable by the
customer. After the initial year, the contract is renewable at negotiated market rates. Prior
to starting this new service line, OSI hired independent consultants... Show more content

Cost Deferral Policy In the past, OSI had not entered into transactions in which
significant up front costs were incurred in connection with the set up and origination of
its contracts, and, accordingly, OSI has not adopted a policy for accounting for these
types of costs. OSI has indicated it plans to adopt a policy of deferring all up front costs
related to this contract including system set up costs, sales commissions, and other
contract acquisition costs. Management of OSI believes they will recover these costs and
generate substantial profits through their call revenue (initial term and renewal periods),
and the up front costs incurred are a necessary investment in the contract. Based on
customer lifting studies performed by an outside consultant and other industry statistics,
OSI expects its contract with Company X to extend beyond the initial contract term and
estimates a customer life of approximately 4.5 years. The total fees (set up fee and call
revenue) over the customer life are expected to exceed the direct costs of the contract,
including amortization of the deferred costs before any indirect or Selling, General, and
Administrative costs.
