Immigration Is The International Movement Of Personnel...
Immigration is the international movement of personnel into a destination country as to
which they do not possess citizenship. Usually they wish to reside permanently by taking
up employment as migrant workers or temporarily as foreign workers. On average,
according to Immigration Watch Canada about 250,000 immigrants have migrated to
Canadaper year since 1991 . Not to mention, this year Canada supposedly to took about
300,000 new immigrants. Immigrationis a significant factor in the development of
countries. Those who argue against immigration do not realize that these immigrants
benefit the country economically, socially and politically. In Canada, studies and social
trends suggest that the country can better promote its own immigration through
observing instances of increases in population, the workforce and providing
multiculturalism.

In reference to immigration, it allows population to increase tremendously. Usually what

tends to happen is that, immigrants have larger families than Canadians, so when they
arrive in Canada with theses mass amounts of people it increases the amount of residents.
Immigrants today make up 65% of Canada s net annual population growth
(conferenceboard.ca) Immigrants are crucial to sustaining population in any country.
This is the main reason why immigration is such a necessity. Canada is a country with
low birth rates, without immigrants our population would decrease. Like I mentioned
before in more modern relationships, such as in
James Joyce Essay
In selecting James Joyce s Ulysses as the best novel of the twentieth century, Time
magazine affirmed Joyce s lasting legacy in the realm of English literature. James Joyce
(1882 1941), the twentieth century Irish novelist, short story writer and poet is a major
literary figure of the twentieth century. Regarded as quot;the most international of writers
in English¡K[with] a global reputation (Attridge, pix), Joyces stature in literature stems
from his experimentation with English prose. Influenced by European writers and an
encyclopedic knowledge of European literatures, Joyce s distinctive writing style includes
epiphanies, the stream of consciousness technique and conciseness.

Hauptmann s comprehensive version of the portrait of an artist helped Joyce develop
his own interpretation. A further clarification was provided by the German philosopher
Friedrich Nietzche (1844 1900). Joyce adapted Nietzsche s concept of the Superman in
developing his portrait of an artist. Although Joyce rejected the Catholic Church all his
life, Reynords, in Joyce and Dante: The Shaping Imagination clams that the Italian poet
and the greatest of Catholic poets Dante Alighier (1265 1321) quot;whose influence
pervades all Joyce s writing is never cowed by authority quot; (Attridge p. 56 57).
Perhaps that is why Joyce was attracted to Dante s writing.

amp;#9;Of all his literary countryman, the only Irish literary who s left a profound
impression on Joyce was that Irish nationalist poet, James Clarence Mangan (1803
1849). In the short story quot;Araby, quot; Joyce pays tribute to the poet by naming the
narrator s classmate, Mangan. Joyce identified with Mangen because of his linguistic
skill and knowledge of the literature of Italy, Spain, France and Germany. Furthermore,
Mangan was disdained by his Irish contemporaries a gesture Joyce considered an act of
treachery.

amp;#9;Joyce s use of the stream of consciousness technique first appeared record these
epiphanies with extreme care, quot;seeing that they themselves are the moments. quot;

Theme Of Conflict In The Song Of The Hummingbird
In the book the Song of the Hummingbird written by Graciela Limon, the main conflict
between Father Benito and Huitzitzilin regarding to what history is, is that they both
come from different worlds/times, the Spanish were Eurocentric, and their religion was
different. Father Benito, a monk who is called to a convent near Mexico Cityin 1583.
Huitzitzilin an elderly woman is asking for a confessor. In her first confession, he
discovers that she had information of the invasion of Cortes and the Spanish. Although
the story it is told quite different from what he had read and learned in Spain. He
forcefully listens to her confessions and also writes down her perspective as to what
really happened when Cortez arrived and took their land.

Both Huitzitzilin and Father Benito come from different worlds. Huitzitzilin was an
eighty two year old woman. Born in Tenochtitlan what is now today known as Mexico.
Her and her people were of the Aztec tribe and called themselves the Mexica. She
experienced at first hand the coming of Cortes and his men. As well as the suffering
and the end of her people and home as she once knew it. On the other hand, Father
Benito was a twenty seven year old priest born in Spain. Huitzitzilin tells Father Bentio,
What I am remembering happened many years before you were born. But perhaps you
know some of the details of those times when your captain and your four legged beasts
came across the waters to infest our world (Limon 13 14). This
Case Study On Instruction Versus Collaboration
Case Analysis
Instruction versus collaboration

Greg Chappell followed an instruction based coaching style, characterised by an

authoritarian, dogmatic, dictatorial, my way or the highway coaching style, whereas
Gary Kirsten followed a collaborative style, which is more participative and ranges from
democratic to laissez faire.

The overall results of a research(titled An Integral Approach to Coaching in Elite Sport )

carried out by Paddy Upton) showed a statistically significant difference between the
coaches style and the players preferred style, with the players preferring less instruction
based coaching and more collaboration (Figure 1).

Performance Focus
A personal coaching focus has its primary focus on the individual as a person, with their
performance as the secondary focus, whilst a performance focus is primarily on sporting
performance/behaviour and/or actions, and secondarily on the individual from whom the
performance emanates.
When coaching for mental toughness in cricket, the focus must be extended to include a
personal focus, rather than focusing on performance alone. Gary Kirsten, who
represented South Africa in 101 test matches, sums this up; When you walk out in a tight
situation on the fifth day of a test match, what is tested is more the person than his skills
(Sunday Times, 2004).
Greg Chappell followed a rigid strategy. Chappell s critics felt that he lacked the people
skills and human touch that were so necessary for a coach to succeed. There was also a
feeling that Chappell was much too interested in preserving his own power equation in
the team. Also he was insensitive to the pertaining team culture. His experimental
approach ended up in disturbing the order and performance of the team members.
