Essays On Student Life

nuanced exploration of various aspects of student life. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a
balance between personal experiences and broader observations. A comprehensive essay on student
life should encompass academic challenges, extracurricular activities, social interactions, and personal
growth, making it a multifaceted task.

One of the challenges is finding a cohesive narrative that ties together the diverse elements of student
life. It involves the delicate art of weaving anecdotes and reflections into a coherent storyline,
providing readers with a meaningful and insightful journey through the complexities of being a
student. Addressing the diverse experiences of students, ranging from academic pressures to social
dynamics, requires a keen understanding of the audience and an ability to relate to a broad spectrum
of readers.

Additionally, research and thoughtful analysis are crucial in crafting a well-rounded essay.
Integrating relevant statistics, studies, and expert opinions can add depth to the narrative and elevate
the essay beyond personal reflections. This requires time and effort in gathering information,
discerning credible sources, and synthesizing data to support the key points.

Furthermore, maintaining an engaging and compelling writing style is essential. Striking the right
tone, balancing seriousness with humor or introspection, can be a formidable task. It demands a high
level of self-awareness and an ability to connect with readers on a personal level while addressing
universal themes of student life.

The House Of The Scorpions Analysis
Throughout both The House of the Scorpions and On the Doctrine of the Feeling of
Power, there are many differences. These two articles are like comparing apples to
broccoli as Mrs. White, my eighth grade gifted English teacher, puts it. However, once
you dig down deeper into the meaning of these writings, you can find many
similarities not easily seen on the surface. Conceiving of power, as Nietzsche puts it,
is more of a deceitful process. Nietzsche s process might be more for someone who is
looked at with little power. In other words, his process is more intended for power
hungry people. I believe that power should be obtained in respect and harmony.
Obviously, my way will take longer to move up the scale of power, but it is the only
way to do it without ending... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way that people use benefiting is, if someone is running for class president or any
other thing that is controlled by the people s vote then the runner might hand out
cookies, stickers, anything the voter will like. They do this in order to get people on
their side so they can win the election against their opponent enemy. Obviously, they
are not doing this in a negative way, all they are thinking about is winning. This shows
that sometimes you can be deceitful without even realizing it. An example of pain is
when a parent is punishing their child. The parent hates this process, but they know it
is the best thing to do for their child. All they want is to mature their child into a well
formed human being. As you can see, Nietzsche s ways are used in everyday life
without us even knowing it. As you can see, there are many more similarities than seen
on the surface. Both novels express high levels of power, and how to gain that power.
Both show lots of symbolism. Now you can see why it is better not judge a book or
article by its
Life Perspectives In Amy Tan s Two Kinds
Life experiences shape and mold us into the people we are today. These experiences
form and create our opinions on everything we see in life. Everything from our family to
society heavily influence our perspectives, whether we realize it or not. Experiences
directly make up our perspectives.
Family members heavily influence our perspectives. From the time we are born our
parents begin teaching us beliefs and values that are right in their eyes. Amy Tan, the
author of Two Kinds talks about how it was living with a strict, traditional mother. In
chunk 6, paragraph 67 Amy s mother states Only two kinds of daughters. She shouted in
Chinese. Those who are obedient and those who follow their own minds! Only one kind
of daughter can live in this house. Obedient daughter! Her mother drilled this idea into
her mind, which definitely affected her to a large extent. Her mother s expectations were
too much, and she could never fulfill them. In her mother s eyes she was a
disappointment, and this experience changed her perspective on what s important in a
person. Another example of family influencing our perspectives is shown in An Indian
Father s Plea by Medicine Grizzly Bear. In the personal letter from a father to his son s
teacher he expresses his concerns for his sons education. Pg(99) My son Wind Wolf, is
not an empty glass coming into your class to be filled. He is a full basket coming into a
different environment and a society with something special to share. Please
Shutter Island Mental Illness
In Denise Lehane s shutter island, there are many diagnoses that fall with Andrew
Laeddis. In the movie, Teddy Daniels and his partner Chuck Aule, travel to Asheville
hospital, located on Shutter Island, for the criminally insane. They are investigating the
disappearance of Rachel Solando who was admitted for drowning her three children. As
they are investigating, they discover that many of the staff are not keen into looking at
Rachel s disappearance. Dr. John Cawley refuses to turn over records, and they learn
that Solando s doctor, Dr. Lester Sheehan, left the island on vacation immediately after
Solando disappeared. Though they are given access to the hospital, they are told Ward C
is off limits, while the lighthouse has already been searched.... Show more content on

These occur mainly while he is awake, but also manifest into his dreams of Rachel
Solando. Thus, Teddy is often having violent outburst caused by stress and by forcing
him to live out his delusion and find his wife s murderer, the doctors are essentially
increasing the amount of stress Andrew will experience from these memories and the
doctors do not provide a safe, controlled environment for Andrew to re experience the
traumatic events. Andrew and the other patients are continuously put in danger while
Andrew lives out his often violent and paranoid delusion. Chuck, Teddy s partner does
attempt to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to alter Andrew s thoughts and feelings,
but does so in a way that is easily ignored. In the end, Teddy does come out of his
delusion, but is consequently distressed over what had occurred, that he willingly
wants a lobotomy so he can forget it. In conclusion, the mental illnesses cause Andrew
Laeddis to shoot his wife, and then get admitted into a hospital for the criminally
insane. He then creates a second identity being unable to handle the guilt of shooting
his wife and ignoring the signs of hew illness. It had started when he had become an
alcoholic after serving at WW11 and developing post traumatic stress disorder. If Teddy
had gotten help for his wife and her bipolar disorder as well as getting help for is post
traumatic stress disorder instead of
Alien And Sedition Acts Pros And Cons
The states were in huge national debt to foreign nations and influential private citizens.
Wealthy Americans and foreign nations loaned money to America for the Revolutionary
War that summed up to about millions of dollars. Alexander Hamilton, the Secretary of
Treasury, was in charge of strengthening the national government. Hamilton introduced
the idea assuming all debts. This caused the Southern States to be enraged because most
of them had already paid off their debt, and did not want to pay taxes to pay off the debt
of Northern States. The states did not pay the taxes because the Articles of Confederation
could not tell the state what to do. Alexander Hamilton proposed a Bank of America that
would collect taxes and would be funded by U.S.... Show more content on

The main problem with the immigrants was that they were voting for Republican
candidates. In the same year Congress passed the Alien and Sedition Acts to limit the
ability for immigrants to vote. The Alien and Sedition Acts were four laws, three of them
combined to require that immigrants wait fourteen years for citizenship and allow the
President to deport or jail immigrants he considered undesirable without trial. The fourth
law, the Sedition Act, allowed fines or jail or any person criticizing the government. The
Alien and Sedition Acts outraged Federalists and Republicans alike. These Acts also
angered Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, the Acts made the government stronger
than the states. Jefferson and Madison come up with a scheme to make the state s
stronger than the federal government by using the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions to
their advantage. The Resolutions introduced the concept of Nullification, Nullification
allowed the states to strike down any federal law that the states thought unconstitutional
or even if they just didn t like it. If this was allowed then the states would be more
powerful than the government which was something that Jefferson and Madison wanted.
The scheme fails when the U.S. Constitution calls for a Federal Government that is
supreme over state
How Did Benjamin Franklin Shape The American Dream
In the late 18th century in the United States of America, Americans struggled to find their
American Identity as a new nation. Throughout this time period, ideas and values
changed with the formation of a new nation. However, influences made by Benjamin
Franklin help shape the American Dream . Benjamin Franklin helped define American
success with The Autobiography and Poor Richard s Almanack to help the new
Americans obtain their identity. After the American Revolution, colonist s ideals evolved
to American ideals and values. The main ideal was to strive for moral perfection. In The
Autobiography, Benjamin Franklinhighlights three key ways to do so: self examination,
to embrace flaws, and hard work. Franklin highlights a unique method to achieve
moral perfection. He created a list of thirteen values and made a planner. Each week
he would work on one virtue. Then after, he mastered that virtue, he would move on to
the next. Each day he would have a self examination to figure out what he should work
on next. However, Franklin soon discovers moral perfection is impossible and writes an
anecdote. In the anecdote, a man wanted a shiny, bright ax. He then goes to a blacksmith
and learns that a speckled ax would be best, since it... Show more content on

Benjamin Franklin was the example of American success. He was a self made man.
This helped to create the American Dream. The American Dream is the belief that every
American can achieve success through hard work and perseverance. The idea of the
time period was that average American citizens could be anything they wanted. This idea
has spread and evolved over time. The basis for the American Dream was based upon the
values and virtues that Benjamin Franklin helped to
A Study On Annan Academy s Geography Class
Carlisle is the only city in Cumbria, automatically making it the administrative centre of
the county. Other than administration, Carlisle has several other areas in which its
activities are focused, such as tourism, shopping, and education. These areas are known
as settlement functions. Functions tend to change and develop as a city grows over the
years. Carlisleis a successful city, but whether or not this is due to its changing functions
is debatable.

Annan Academy s Geography class went to Carlisle in September 2015 to obtain

primary research data of the city s geographical issues.

Method 1

In order to figure out some of the current main functions of Carlisle, the first research
method used for this report was two RICEPOTS surveys of different areas in Carlisle the
CBD (the square near the Tourist Information Centre) and the area from West Tower
Street to Corporation Road. These areas were chosen to display a contrast in the land
usage of two areas of Carlisle which are close together. The RICEPOTS surveys were
completed by walking around the areas and annotating a map with the purpose of each
building in the area. Once both maps were annotated, the information was put into a
table before being compiled into a comparative bar graph (see: Graph 1).

The results show that West Tower Street to Corporation Road is largely residential, with
35 terraced houses, and that the square near the Tourist Information Centre is largely
commercial with 47 specialist shops
