Opposition to Prescribed Burns Essay
Opposition to Prescribed Burns

Forest fires kill many animals and usually destroy a large amount of land. Prescribed
burns seem like they would be the best idea, but are they? Their claim to fame is to
clear out land in order to decrease the burning space for when an actual forest fire
occurs. Yet this may seem like a brilliant idea, but one must look at the negative aspects
of controlled burnings. People might have a change of heart when they realize the
damages and effects of such an interesting act. Keep in mind that not only is your health
involved but even such things as the inconvenience of dealing with a smoky town. It is
important to understand that prescribed burns cause severe health problems especially to

Much like the firefighters in 911 (figure 1); many people would say that a firefighter s
health is very important. Life is a precious thing and before we sit around and let
controlled burnings take control, we should protect the lives of those who protect us.

Figure SEQ Figure \* ARABIC 1 (Firefighters at a 911 memorial)

Although health is a major issue, you must keep in mind that visibility is very important,
especially if you have to drive through the thick smoke on a major highway. Loss of
sight during a burn usually occurs during high peak exposures (Reinhardt 35). It is
hard for firefighters to concentrate on their work because the smoke decreases their
visibility so much (Reinhardt 34). Besides the danger of not being able to see while
driving and a firefighter not being able to see what he is doing, it is also a negative to
not be able to enjoy the beautiful nature around us when we are outside. The smoke
may not last long, but it is hard to go on with day to day lives dealing with breathing let
alone looking through the smoke each day. Smoke could irritate eyes for a long period
of time and might possibly lead to long term damage (Reinhardt 34).

The last, but yet most important aspect one must look at is the fact that your long term
health could be affected by smoke damage from the burns. The top five components of
potential health hazards are: acrolein, benzene, carbon monoxide,

Greek Museum Library
The museum curator, Silus Veusius was dressed in a red robe and looking a little
creepy, he was arguing with someone about why the museum was a bad idea. He
explained to me how important they were, he invited me inside and told me he had a
job I may be interest in, he told me to look around the museum then speak to him when
I was ready. He told me a lot of the history of the cult and showed me a lot of artefacts
which he claimed were related to them, they certainly appear to have an evil aspect.
Silus even admitted his family was in the mythic dawn, and one of his relatives was
involved in the raid to kill the emperor mentioned in Nancy s diary. It seems he wants to
spread the power of the mythic dawn once more, and the Daedric lord Mehrunes... Show

the confidence of his stares. I went and sat on the edge of Bjarne s bed and opened the
herb mixture I had made. It was nearly noon and it was hot and humid in the Meadery.
With my back to Bjarne and little of the mixture in my hand, I smoothed it over my
thighs down my calves and back up my hips. My hips caught the eyes of men and Bjarne
was no exception. He couldn t even look away. Bjarne I said over my shoulder while I
fluffed my hair behind me. Can you put some skin cream on my back? I laid down

Diversity In Israel
Diversity is one of the main things that separates people from each other in society.
There are many ways diversity can be seen, either by, culture, nationality, status in
society, or by gender. A visible diversity many people commonly see is culture diversity.
Culture is simply, people s way of life. Cultureis what distinguishes people; some may
say it creates an invisible line between people. Many cultures are not accepted due to the
fact that their beliefs, traditions, or practice are different from others. Many people
believe that with diversity comes adversities. Many people are unaware of the importance
of different cultures, even though it may be different to their custom. Growing up as a
first generation Nigerian American was hard,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diversity is what unites people, without diversity, society would be like a dystopian
society; same people, same cycle, same routine, going on and on. With diversity we
have a wide range of options, different people; you re able to understand how other live.
For a while, I didn t understand what diversity meant, why people traveled. But when I
was able to travel to Nigeria and understand the culture, I fully understood. Through the
Cultural Fair, Let the Nations Rejoice, and my stay in Nigeria, I now fully understand
the importance of diversity, and the need for my fellow peers to be educated about the
