Symptom

In a maintenance notification or service notification or quality notification or claim a customer


subscreen is used. Beneath the subscreen a big empty space remains:

Reproducing the Issue


Use enhancement QQMA0001 to include an user subscreen in a notification (transaction SMOD).

Cause
The effect is caused by SAP Note 2145550. Prior to this SAP Note the same customer screen looked
like this, which was fine:

However, large customer screens (= screens bigger than the screen area where they are included)
were cut and not the whole screen was visible. In order to avoid this, the flag "Scrollable" was set in
the attributes of screens SAPLIQS0 7790 (for the screen area "090 Customer Subscreen (One
Screen/Not.Type)" in customizing node "Set Screen Templates for the Notification Type") and
SAPLIQS0 7900 (for the screen area "091 Customer Subscreen (>1 Screen/Not.Type)"):
Unfortunately this has the shortcoming that for small screens (= screens smaller than the screen
area where they are included) the empty lines are not removed anymore. However, this was
considered to be the smaller disadvantage compared to cut off large screens.

Resolution
New screens were created with the same settings as the old screens had before they were changed
(i. e. flag "scrollable" not ticked). In order to use them, please change the screen area from 090 to
100 or from screen area 091 to 101 in the customizing node:
(Mind: If your support package level doesn't include SAP Note 2271079, you will need to implement
this SAP Note first.)

1. Run Transaction SPRO and select 'Overview of Notification Type':

2. Select the notification which needs to be customized i.e. 'M1' and then select 'Screen
Structure for Extended View'

3. Select the Tab which needs to be customized i.e. '10\TAB01' and select the 'View Details'
button
4. You will see a Screen Area that is set to 090. Change this to 100. Alternatively, if a Screen
Area is set to 091, change this to 101

5. This will remove the scrollable area/blank spaces within the selected notification
6. The screen will then display as it did previously without any blank spaces/scroll bars
