CHETS432: TRACK SPECIALIZATION 2 SYNOPTIC ACTIVITY

Objective: The purpose of this reporting activity is to assess your ability to research, analyze, and communicate information
effectively, both in written and oral formats. This exercise is designed to enhance your skills in presenting information clearly and
concisely, catering to different communication mediums. Reminder: this activity will cover 25% of your midterm average.

I. WRITTEN REPORT INSTRUCTIONS:

A. Topic Selection: (25%)

 You will be given a topic by your instructor.


 Ensure to have in-depth research and analysis of the topic assigned to you.
B. Report Structure: (25%)

 Title Page: Include a clear and informative title, your name, date, and any other relevant details.
 Executive Summary: Provide a concise overview of the report's key findings and recommendations.
 Introduction: Clearly introduce the topic, its significance, and the objectives of the report.
 Body: Organize the report into logical sections, presenting your research, analysis, and findings coherently.
 Conclusion: Summarize the main points and provide any conclusions drawn from the analysis.
 Recommendations: If applicable, suggest actionable recommendations based on your findings.
 References: Include a comprehensive list of sources cited in the report.
C. Formatting and Style: (25%)

 Use a professional and consistent formatting style (IEEE format).


 Use letter size bond paper and fastened in a white folder
 Ensure proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
 Use clear and concise language, avoiding jargon that may be unclear to a general audience.
D. Submission: (25%)
 Submit the written report (places in a clean white folder) by February 29, 2024 no later than 5:30 PM. Must be submitted to
me directly. Failure of submission on time and failure to follow the prescribed format will automatically be rated as
1.0.
II. ORAL PRESENTATION INSTRUCTIONS (Live Virtual Presentation)

A. Preparation:

 Prepare a visually engaging presentation with slides (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva).
 Practice your presentation multiple times to ensure fluency and adherence to time constraints.
 Anticipate questions from the audience and prepare well-thought-out responses.
B. Presentation Structure:

 Introduction: Clearly introduce the topic and set the stage for your presentation.
 Context: Provide background information to ensure the audience understands the significance of the topic.
 Main Points: Present the key findings, insights, and analysis from your written report.
 Visual Aids: Use slides to visually support your points (charts, graphs, images).
 Conclusion: Summarize the main points and reinforce the key takeaways.
 Q&A Session: Open the floor for questions from the audience.
C. Delivery:

 Maintain eye contact and engage with the audience.


 Speak clearly, audibly, and at a moderate pace.
 Practice good body language and gestures to enhance communication.
D. Evaluation:

 You will be assessed on content, clarity, engagement, and the ability to respond to questions effectively.
 Your presentation should not exceed [Specify Time Limit – enough for 1 session (1 hour, 30 minutes)].

design as if presenting to a possible sponsor. Presentation must include the raw/base materials of your product, product
specification, and design.
