This document provides an installation manual for an RS232/485-OPTO/A transmission converter. The converter allows connection between a controller network and computer COM port using supervision software by converting the RS232 protocol to RS485/RS422. It has overvoltage protection and optical isolation for transmission lines. Connection terminals are provided via DB9 connectors on both ends, with pins labeled for half or full duplex asynchronous communication in RS485 or RS422 mode up to 9.6 kbps over 5000 meters.

GENERAL INFORMATION
RS232/RS485-OPTO/A converter is used to connect controllers network to
the COM computer port with the supervisor software. The device allows convert RS232 to RS485/RS422 protocol. The converter has overvoltage protection and optical isolation in transmission bus. Predisposes it to use in large systems in an environment exposed to electrostatic interference and surges. The RS232 port is a cable with a DB9-F connector and RS-485 port include DB9-M connector. DB9- M connector include small module with screws for connection twisted pairs ca- bles.
Technical parameters of the converter:
• Compatible with EIA RS-232C i RS-485, RS-422. • Electrical interface: - RS232 port - DB9-F connector - RS485/RS422 port in the form of slots plus DB9-M module with terminals • Level of protection against power surges - up to 600 W • Optical isolation - 2500Vrms, 500DC • Modes: half-duplex or duplex asynchronous • Optical indicators work: - Red LED (PWR) power signal - Yellow LED (RXD) signal reception - Green LED (TXD) send signal • Recommended cable for bus lines: - unshielded twisted pair - two pairs - shielded twisted pair - one pair • Baud rate on port 485 - to 9,6 Kbps, up to 5000 m • Dimensions: 113 x 55 x 25 mm • Power - 9 - 30 VDC, 500 mA (included supply power) • Power consumption: static - 120 mA, -350 mA dynamically • Environmental parameters: - Operating temperature - 20 ° C to 60 ° C - Relative humidity - 5% to 95%
1 GND - save ground 2 RXD - data receive 3 TXD - data transmission 4 DTR - transmission ready signal 5 GND - signal ground 6 DSR 7 RTS 8 CTS 9 RI
