Prevention of Air Pollution

1) Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm humans, animals, and plants. It is caused primarily by emissions from industries, vehicles, and human activities. 2) To control air pollution, individuals can reduce electricity and appliance usage, take public transportation, reuse materials, and avoid plastic bags. Prevention is also key to protecting ecosystems. 3) Air pollution is a serious problem in the Philippines due to fossil fuel burning and vehicle emissions. Insufficient monitoring data makes the problem difficult to address. Increased action is needed to implement regulations and safeguard public health.

*PREVENTION OF AIR POLLUTION*

INTRODUCTION
Do you know anything about air pollution? Where does this happen? And what causes
pollution? According to Erin Berl "less air pollution is the answer to a healthy life solution," and
I agree that we should save the air. Air pollution can be caused by increasing levels of cars, oil
refineries, and even factories that pump things like smoke that damage the environment. Air
pollution must be controlled by law and by citizen action.
According to National Geographic (2022), Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the
air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It also damages buildings. Pollutants
in the air take many forms. They can be solid particles, liquid droplets, and gases. There are
several ways that pollution may reach the Earth's atmosphere. People are responsible for the
majority of air pollution, which manifests as emissions from industries, vehicles, aircraft, or
aerosol cans. Air pollution also includes secondhand cigarette smoke. These pollution-causing
human activities are referred to as anthropogenic sources.
Air pollution must be controlled by law and by citizen action. To control air pollution, we can
turn off electronic and electrical appliances when not in use, use public transport as much as
possible, avoid using plastic bags, recycle and reuse instead of throwing everything away matter
in the environment around us to be specific to our mother earth.
Good morning to all! I’m Erjhane Clarizz A. Yulip, and I’m here today to discuss and help you
learn more about air pollution. As a student who also cares for our nature, I am here in front of
you to determine how we can take care of our air pollution.
All actions that may or already do produce pollution, including those in the energy, agricultural,
governmental, commercial, and industrial sectors, can be prevented. For the preservation of
wetlands, groundwater supplies, and other crucial ecosystems—areas where we particularly want
to halt pollution before it begins—prevention methods are crucial. This might make it simple for
us to think of tiny ways that we can support Mother Nature.
We have the power to change the world as humans. We may try to make everyone aware of the
harm that air pollution can do to our world if we stop acting immediately to reach individuals
who can take some action to lessen the chance that our environment is contaminated. There is a
project called slogans in school. When you want to tell the world that it's time to start acting to
decrease air pollution, be a constructivist. Studies advise employing reference-grade devices and
a network of inexpensive sensors to continually evaluate the quality of the air. The First WHO
Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health (2018) issued a warning that "new norms and
standards are needed to guide the appropriate use and interpretation of data provided by citizen
science and other applications."
In the Philippines, air pollution has grown to be a serious issue over time. According to the
World Health Organization's health and environment scorecard, the burning of fossil fuels like
coal and oil is the main cause of air pollution in the Philippines. Long-term, this will affect air
quality because 53% of the population lacks access to clean and modern cooking facilities.
Vehicle emissions are a major contributor to air pollution in the Philippines, especially in
metropolitan regions like Metro Manila. Other sites around the nation, like Antipolo City Station
and San Fernando City Station in Pampanga, observed increases in air pollution in 2022. The
limitations of Covid-19, according to William Cuñado, Director of the Environmental
Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), have
lowered the air quality in Metro Manila and other parts of our nation. The National Capital
Region the country had a 10% decline during the lockdown as a result of the extreme surge. The
frequent usage of fireworks during the New Year's celebration is another cause. The DENR is
reinforcing its commitment to reducing this type of air pollution since fireworks include a
mixture of carbon, sulfur, and other tiny particles that are hazardous to human health. However,
for this approach to be effective, the available Executive Order 28 on the restricted use of
fireworks must be implemented by local government entities. In addition, organizations like
Greenpeace Philippines and the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) revealed
the Clean Air Act of 1999's obsolete nature to the world despite the government's introduction of
it. As a result, the government is revising its regulations to reflect the actual level of air pollution
in the nation.
The absence of sufficient data on air pollution makes it difficult to solve the problem. After all,
how can you discover remedies if you don't know what pollutes and how much. Solving an issue
from the beginning has rarely been a successful tactic. The capacity of regulatory systems to
precisely identify susceptible populations and take action to safeguard the public health is
hampered by those. The high expense of obtaining and maintaining monitoring equipment is one
of the main causes of insufficient monitoring. Although pollution control boards have invested in
reference-grade air quality monitoring devices, this only record exposure at low levels and do not
capture ambient pollution. The capacity of regulatory systems to precisely identify susceptible
populations and take action to safeguard the public health is hampered by those.
I have composed of 3 main ideas, in main idea 1, I talked about how can we prevent air
pollution, in main idea 2 I talked about the effects of air pollution and lastly in main ide 3, I
talked about controlling the air pollution and the risks of it.
To reduce air pollution, we could turn off electrical and electronic equipment when not in use,
commute primarily by public transportation, abstain from using plastic bags, recycle, and
repurpose items rather than throw them away to protect the environment in general and our
mother earth in particular.
Prevention practices are essential for preserving wetlands, groundwater sources, and other
critical ecosystems - areas in which we especially want to stop pollution before it begins.
It is a very important issue since air pollution significantly harms our ecosystem. As all living
organisms are dependent on their surroundings for survival, we are aware of this fact. So, if there
was danger in the air and a lot of mud, would you still live there? Again I'm Erjhane Yulip once
more, and I hope you learnt a lot from this. I also hope that you will use this as a means to help
us rescue the environment
