 Introduction

Sengkheang was born in Otarmar Village, Mongkol Borie District,

Banteay Meanchey Province (countryside). He also has a house in Serei
Saophoan Town. Sometimes he stays in Serei Saophoan Town;
sometimes he stays in Otarmar Village. He’s studying at Build Bright
University. He also studies English in a school named ACD where he
meets a girl named Bella.
Bella was born in Serei Saophoan Town. She has a sister named
Layla and a brother named Jack. Bella is 12 grade and her sister, Layla,
is 11 grade but they study English at the same level (IELTS Foundation
with Teacher Thorin- every 5:00 in the Evening from Tuesday to Friday).
Sengkheang has been studying English with Mr. Thorin for about 3
terms. There are 5 students: Peter, Nelson, Elisa, Jane, and Sengkheang.
But when a new term started, there are two more students arrived. They
are Bella and Layla and the atmosphere in the class started to change.
Bella and Layla are friends with Peter. They study at Sovanapumi
School together; they’re very close to each other too.

Sengkheang just arrived at ACD School. The new term just started and there
are a lot of students in the school. Sengkheang gets off from his motorbike and he
walks to his class with confidence. He’s always a well-dressed man and every time
he comes to class, he walks like a king. Everyone keeps an eye on him whenever
they see him. Some girls even have a crush on him and Sengkheang knows that
but he never breaks the rule. He used to have a love once when he was in high
school. But that love almost killed him alive and it stopped him from falling in
love again. Since then, Sengkheang just wants to be alone even though many
people are with him.
Sengkheang is the kind of man who doesn’t talk much but when he speaks,
every word is like a sharp knife that can kill the listeners alive. And that makes
him very attractive to some girls. In class, Sengkheang is also a great student. All
of his classmates love to be with him, especially during group discussions.
Sengkheang always has great ideas and most of them make his classmates satisfied.
In Class
When Sengkheang entered the class, the teacher and other students were
already there. Mr. Thorin says “Hi” to Sengkheang as Sengkheang was walking to
his chair. Peter and Nelson smile at Sengkheang when Sengkheang sits down. The
class started for about five minutes, there was a knock on the door. Mr. Thorin
opened the door and there were two girls at the door. They are very friendly. Both
of them said” Hello” to Mr. Thorin and Mr. Thorin asked,” Are you both new
students?” Both of them replied with a smile” Yeah!” Mr. Thorin replied” Come
in! And have a seat.” The two girls sit down and they start looking at everyone in
the room. Mr. Thorin says” Well, welcome to our class! But can you both tell us
about yourselves, please?” Then one of the new girls says” My name is Layla. I’m
studying in 11 grade in Sovannapumi School. In my free time, I love drawing
pictures” Then the other girl said” My name is Bella and I’m studying in 12 grade
at Sovannapumi School too. In my free time, I love reading books, Love story
books.” Mr. Thorin asked,” So, you both are sisters?” Bella replied,” Yeah, I’m
her elder sister but she's bigger than me.” And other students laugh then Peter
interrupts” I’ve never noticed that!” and Mr. Thorin asks” Oh, you know them?”
Peter replied,” Yes, my class is next to hers.” Bella replied,” Yeah, sometimes I
can hear his voice from his class.” And Both Layla and Bella laugh. Peter replied
with a laugh “Are you kidding me?” Then, Mr. Thorin says” Okay, now you know
their names, and it’s your turn now.” Jane looked at Bella and Layla and said” I’m
Jane.” Nelson looked at Bella and Layla and said” I’m Nelson”. Elisa looked at
Bella and Layla and said “I’m Elisa.” Then Peter said” I don’t think I need to
introduce myself because they already know me.” Mr. Thorin replied” Okay, we
can skip you.” And finally, it’s Sengkheang’s turn. Sengkheang didn’t look at
Bella and Layla and he said” I’m Sengkheang.” Bella and Layla hadn’t seen
Sengkheang’s face yet. So, they bend down to look at Sengkheang. Bella looked
at Sengkheang with wonder and she looked back to her book.
Both Bella and Layla are lovely and friendly and beautiful girls. They love
talking during the class and sometimes they make fun of Peter and the whole class
seems to change so much since their arrival. However, that doesn’t make much
sense to Sengkheang. He doesn’t laugh when other students do.

A Week Later
Things change every day but not Sengkheang. He pays close attention during
the learning process because his goal is to beat his classmate, Jane. Jane has
become the top scorer in the class for many terms and Sengkheang wants to
change. He thinks Jane has been a great student for long enough.
Sengkheang works hard every day and he hopes that he will beat Jane this
term. The way Sengkheang acts has so much impact on other students in the room,
especially Bella. Bella always takes a quick look at Sengkheang all the time. She
loves how Sengkheang acts, she loves his look and she loves who he is because
she never meets a man like him before.
Sengkheang knows that Bella looks at him but he just lets it go. Sometimes
people think Sengkheang is rude but the reason Sengkheang does that is because
he doesn’t want to have any relationship while he’s learning; he doesn’t want to
see anyone get hurt because in love people get hurt. If it’s not you, it must be the
person next to you. Sengkheang has a bad past before so he doesn’t want to
experience it again.

A Week Later
Today, there is a group discussion. Sengkheang is with Nelson, Jane is with
Peter, Elisa is absent, and Bella is with Layla. Mr. Thorin said” Today’s topic is
talking about inspirational or funny quotes, but the problem is you have to make it
yourself. You cannot use someone’s quotes but if you cannot find them, you can
copy someone’s quote but you need to attach the references. I will give you five
minutes.”
Five Minutes Later
Mr. Thorin looks and says” Which group want to go first?” Everyone
remained silent and Mr. Thorin said” Well, not reply is also a reply.” And all the
students laughed and Mr. Thorin said” Come on Jane, tell me what your group
got?” Jane said,” When life hurts you, observe because life is trying to teach you
something.” Mr. Thorin replied” Good! Anything else?” Jane continues” When
you are helping poor people, leave your camera at home.” Everyone in the room
laughed and Mr. Thorin replied” Wow! This one is awesome. Anything else?” Jane
replied “No.” Mr. Thorin continues” Layla, tell us what you find?” Layla said,” If
they call themselves actresses by making videos on TikTok, then I would be an
army because I play PUBG.” And everyone laughs again and Mr. Thorin replies”
You should post it on Facebook. You will get many Likes I would think. Anything
else?” Bella said,” Just because I’m strong enough to handle pain doesn’t mean I
deserve it.” Mr. Thorin replied,” Oh, look like you’ve been through hard times
before.” Sengkheang looked at Bella while Bella was smiling and looking at the
floor. Mr. Thorin looked at Sengkheang and said” How about you, Kheang?
What’s yours?” Sengkheang said,” Never trust someone who replies late but when
you are with them, they’re holding their phones all the time.” Everyone laughs and
Bella looks at Sengkheang with surprise. Mr. Thorin replied” I love that one. Give
me another great one, will you?” Sengkheang continues” If you want to feed the
homeless, then feed the homeless. But the movement you post it on social media,
you’re also feeding your ego.” Mr. Thorin replied” Wow, But I think it’s similar
to Jane. Can you give us another one? “Sengkheang replied,” Don’t worry if she
goes back to her Ex. Learn to donate old toys to poor kids.” Peter replied with a
laugh” What?” Mr. Thorin replied” Oh no. This one hurt.” Layla interrupts”
Teacher, can I add one?” Mr. Thorin replied” Absolutely.” Layla said” I’m not
heartless. I just learned to use my heart less.” Mr. Thorin replied,” Not bad.”
Sengkheang gives the book to Nelson and Nelson reads” Put me in a room with
the same people who don’t like me and watch how friendly they become.” Bella
takes a book from Layla and reads” If you think you are the smartest person in the
room that means you’re in the wrong room.” Everyone in the class looks at Bella
in silence. Bella said with shy” Ah, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.” Mr. Thorin
replied,” Well, I hope I’m in the right room.” And all the students laugh.
Sengkheang is still staring at Bella. Bella knows that Sengkheang is looking at her.
So, she looked at Sengkheang very quickly and she looked back to her book.

A Week Later
Today, Bella and her sister are a bit late. The class already started when they
arrived. Bella tells her sister” Layla, you go to the class first. There’s something in
my eye. I need to wash it with water.” Layla nodded and she entered the class.
Bella rushed into the restroom without looking at the sign.
After washing her eyes, Bella came out of the rest room but she was in shock
because Sengkheang was standing there. Bella looks at Sengkheang and talks with
nervousness” You’re in the wrong room. This is the Female restroom.”
Sengkheang looked at the sign and it was the Men's Rest Room. Bella looked down
with embarrassment and she said” I’m so sorry. I was in a rush and I forgot to look
at the sign.” Sengkheang says nothing but he keeps looking at Bella. Bella looks
at Sengkheang and she looks away. She feels so nervous and shy. Then Bella said,”
Sorry, I need to go.” Bella started to walk out but Sengkheang walked to stand in
front of her. Bella feels even more afraid and shy. Sengkheang walks next to Bella
while Bella walks backward. Bella asked with fear” What are you doing?”
Sengkheang replied,” I’m walking toward you!” They keep staring at each other
but Bella feels very shy and nervous. Bella walked backward till her back reached
the wall so that she could not move anymore. Sengkheang bends down next to her
cheek and he takes a deep breath. Bella thinks Sengkheang is going to kiss her so
she closes her eyes. Suddenly, there’s a sound of footsteps that someone is coming.
Bella opened her eyes and she walked back to class immediately.
In Class
Bella cannot forget what just happened. She feels like it was a dream. When
she arrived in class, she sat down and did nothing. Layla saw her sister acting so
strange that she asked” What’s wrong?” Bella replied” Nothing.” Suddenly,
Sengkheang arrived. Bella dares not look at him. She looked down and pretended
to read a book.
30 Minutes Later
Today Mr. Thorin is going to play a video that talks about how students take
the IELTS Test. Mr. Thorin played a video on his computer but the screen was too
small so he asked Sengkheang to move.” Mr. Thorin said,” Kheang, can you move
next to Bella, please?” Sengkheang moved a little bit next to Bella and Mr. Thorin
said” Just move a little bit closer. What prevents you from being next to her? Does
she smell?” Sengkheang replied,” She smells great!” Mr. Thorin looks at
Sengkheang while Layla starts to laugh heavily. Layla looks at Bella and laughs
and she bends down to her book laughing. Bella stays quiet. She feels like
Sengkheang is playing a game with her. His confidence, and his influence now
take control of her mind. Her heart feels even more nervous, shy, and embarrassed.
Bella can’t believe that Sengkheang dares to speak like that. She wonders if he
loves her or if he just flirts with her for fun. Does he mean it? Sengkheang has
driven her crazy now.

At Bella House, In The Evening
Bella was sitting and reading her book but she could not concentrate on her
learning process. She cannot stop thinking about Sengkheang especially what he
has done to her. She wonders what he is thinking. Suddenly, Layla arrived. Layla
looks at her sister and speaks with a smile” Are you thinking about him?” Bella
looked at Layla and said” I don’t know what he thinks of me but he has made me
crazy. What kind of man would talk like that in front of many people? I can’t
believe what he did.” Layla replied,” So, what do you think of him?” Bella
replied,” I don’t know but he’s unique.” I’ve never met a man like this before. But
he looks sad all the time. I wonder what has happened to him.” Layla replied,” I
think you’re having a crush on him.” Bella replied with a smile” And I think you’re
overthinking.” Layla replied,” No, you are the one who overthinking.” You should
talk to him if you want to find out about him.” Bella replied,” Are you serious?”
Layla walked next to her sister and combed Bella’s hair she said” I never had love
before but I’m sure he’s into you for a reason although I don’t know what reason
that is. Love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.”

A Week Later
Every day after class, Sengkheang always drives his motorbike to a big
building that looks like a place was abandoned. No one knows what is inside that
building.
After class, Bella and Layla always drive their motorbike to pick up their
brother who studies at Serei Saophoan High School. While waiting for her brother,
Bella saw Sengkheang drive his motorbike to a quiet big building. Bella wonders
what he is doing in that building. When Jack arrived, Layla said with a laugh” Jack,
You see that man in that black cloth! He’s Bella’s boyfriend.” Jack looks at
Sengkheang and he smiles while Bella smiles and she looks away. Sengkheang
looks at Jack and he drives away.

Next Day
Bella now has fallen in love with Sengkheang even more. She always looks
at him during class. Layla knows that her sister is in love too.
06:00 In The Evening
After class
Bella and Layla were waiting for their brother. Suddenly, Bella saw
Sengkheang drive to that building again. And it makes Bella even more doubt
about Sengkheang.

06:00 In The Evening
Bella saw Sengkheang drive to that quiet building every day after class. So
today, she decides to follow him. Bella speaks to Layla” Wait here! I’ll be back in
second.” Layla replied,” Where are you going?” But Bella doesn’t reply; she just
leaves.
At The Big Building
Bella walked through the building quietly and finally, she reached a door. It
looks dark inside and it looks so dangerous. Bella enters the building with fear.
She looks at every part of the building and finally, she hears the sound of men.
Bella decides to walk a little further and finally, she sees many men working out.
Bella tries to look for Sengkheang but she cannot find him. Suddenly, there’s a rat
runs on Bella’s leg. Bella shouts with fear and all men start looking at her. Bella
looks at all those men with fear. A man said” Who is she? How did she get in
here?” Bella feels even more nervous so she tries to walk backward. But when she
starts moving, she feels like a man is standing behind her. Bella looks at that man
with fear and that man is Sengkheang. Sengkheang was staring at her. He doesn’t
wear a shirt. He only wears trousers so that Bella can see his muscles and his six-
pack. Bella cannot take her eyes off his sexy body although she feels a little fear.
Sengkheang walks toward Bella and he hugs her. Bella tried to move and she
asked” What are you doing?” Sengkheang replied,” If you don’t want to get hurt,
just stay in my arms.” Bella looked at all the men who were working out. They
were staring at her then she realized that Sengkheang was trying to protect her.
Bella looks at Sengkheang and asks” When can I get outside? You’ve been
hugging me for long enough?” Sengkheang takes his hands off her body with a
smile. Then, Sengkheang used his hand to move Bella’s hair from her face. Bella
feels even more shy and she stays quiet.” Then, Sengkheang reaches his hand to
her. Bella gives her hand to Sengkheang with shy and nervous. Sengkheang
grabbed her hand and he led the way out. Sengkheang walks with confidence and
that makes Bella believe in him. She knows he’s the man she can trust. She knows
he can protect her.
Finally, Sengkheang brings Bella to the Exit door but he’s still holding her
hand. Bella looks at Sengkheang and speaks with a smile” You can release my
hand now.” Sengkheang looks at the hands and asks” Do you come here alone.”
Bella nodded and Sengkheang continued” You’re sure you can go back alone?”
Bella replied” Yes, I can. My sister was waiting for me right there.” Sengkheang
looked at Bella and said” Be careful. You can go now.” Sengkheang released her
hand and Bella started to walk out. Sengkheang keeps looking at her till she reaches
the big road then he goes inside the building.
A few minutes later, Bella arrived at her motorbike. Layla asked with anger”
Where were you? We’ve been waiting for you?” Bella replied,” We can leave
now.”

 Bella was lying on her bed while Layla was doing her homework. Bella
looked at her sister and asked” Tomorrow, we have to join our aunt’s birthday,
right?” Layla replied” What! You don’t wanna go!” Bella replied,” No, I just…”
Layla interrupts” You’re afraid you can’t see him, are you?” Bella looks at her
sister with a smile and Layla continues” Look! It’s just one day! It’s not the end of
the world.” Bella walked to her sister and said” I miss him even though I’m with
him.” Layla replied,” You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because
reality is finally better than your dreams.” Bella replied with a laugh” So, you’re a
love expert?” And both of them laugh.

Today, Bella and her sister are absent. The whole class seems so quiet.
Sengkheang keeps looking at Bella’s chair but he still can’t see her. He misses her
voice, her lovely smile, and her beautiful body especially the way she looked at
him. Even if he spent the whole day with her, he would still miss her the second
she left.

Today, Bella and her sister are back to class as normal but what’s not normal
is Sengkheang is absent. The whole class seems even quieter. Bella keeps looking
at Sengkheang’s chair. She misses the way he sits, the way he acts, and the way he
shows himself to the world. Now, Bella just realizes that missing someone and not
being able to see them is the worst feeling ever. Layla knows how her sister feels
and she grabs Bella’s arm and whispers” If you can’t get someone out of your head,
maybe they are supposed to be here.” Layla continues” But sometimes, it’s not just
about missing someone, it’s wondering if they’re missing you too.”

 Today, there’s a group discussion again and Bella and Sengkheang are in
the same group. Bella tries her best to act like she’s not under Sengkheang’s
influence. Sengkheang looks at her sometimes but he speaks nothing while Bella
talks a lot about the topic. She sometimes looks at Sengkheang too but she cannot
look at him for a long time. When Sengkheang speaks, Bella laughs although it’s
not that very funny.
Pai Lin Province, December, 2018
In A Small Village in Som Lot
Sengkheang doesn’t go to school. He decides to visit his farm in Pai Lin
Province. Sengkheang’s Family owns a mountain and they grow different kinds of
crops and trees. Sengkheang stays there for a week and he checks how his workers
work and he makes some changes in the farm.
After finishing his work, Sengkheang usually climbs to the peak of the
mountain to see the most beautiful view. It’s the place where he gets rid of the
stress. However, he still misses Bella. Sometimes he dreams that Bella is with him
and they walk across the forest to see the sunset together. But everything is just his
imagination. He’s just all alone in a big house on a big mountain surrounded by
millions of trees.

Sengkheang’s absence gives Bella a big depression. She cannot focus on her
learning process. Sengkheang had never been absent for many days like this
before. Bella thinks to herself” What happened to you, Kheang? Don’t you know
you have the right to control my life? I miss our conversations; I miss how we used
to talk every minute of every day and now I don’t know how to tell my heart to
stop missing you and how can I tell my brain to stop thinking about you. Your
influence has reigned over me. I wish that you were here or I were there or we
were together anywhere.”

Bella was thinking about Sengkheang. Layla feels bad for her sister too but
nothing she can do to help her sister. Layla walked next to her sister and said” You
should ask Peter or Nelson if they have any contact with him. When you truly love
someone, no distance or amount of time can tear you apart.” Bella nodded and she
laid her head on the table and she started to think about Sengkheang.”

At ACD School
Bella dares not to ask Peter or Nelson about Sengkheang by herself so she
asks Layla to do it instead. Peter and Nelson say they never have any contact with
Sengkheang although they’re close to him. This answer makes Bella feel even
sadder. Bella talks to herself” A thousand miles can’t keep me away from you.
Distance shouldn’t matter because, at the end of the day, we’re all under the same
sky. You are near, even if I don’t see you. You are with me, even if you are far
away. You are in my heart, in my thoughts, in my life always.”

05:00 at ACD School
Sengkheang now is back in his class but he’s a bit late. He enters the class
while Bella is sitting down in sorrow. Layla gives a sign to her sister and Bella
looks at Sengkheang with love and hate. He angers her by leaving her for a week
without any communication. Now, the whole class seems noisier than it used to
be. Mr. Thorin saw Sengkheang and he said” Oh, you’re back. Where have you
been lately, Kheang?” Sengkheang sits down and he replies,” I went to Pai Lin.”
Mr. Thorin asked,” What did you do there?” Sengkheang replied” Well, I had a
bad dream every night for a week. So, I went to see a doctor. The doctor said I was
overthinking and he suggested I get some rest. So, I decided to go to Pai Lin.” Mr.
Thorin asked,” Who did you stay with Pai Lin?” Sengkheang replied,” I have a
house there.” Mr. Thorin asked” Oh, interesting. What did you do there?
“Sengkheang replied” In fact, my family owns a mountain and we built a house on
the top of the mountain. The rest of the land we grow crops and trees.” Mr. Thorin
replied with joy” So, you’re a king on a mountain. Do you have a name for your
mountain, Kheang?” Sengkheang replied” I call it a “Lonely Mountain.” Mr.
Thorin replied” That’s such a great name. By the way, let's start our lesson.”
Bella cannot take her eyes off from Sengkheang. He makes her crazy. He
makes her fall in love with him but now he acts like he knows nothing.
After class
When the class finished, Bella walked out of the room as fast as possible.
Everyone in the room looks at her in wonder. Layla said” Oh, I’m so sorry for my
sister. She’s not feeling good today.” Sengkheang gets up, then he takes Bella’s
books and he walks out immediately. He follows Bella to the first floor where he
sees Bella walking to her motorbike. Sengkheang walks behind her as fast as he
can and finally, he reaches her. Sengkheang said” Your books!” Bella takes her
books and replies with anger” I told Layla to take it for me!” Sengkheang grabbed
Bella’s hand and asked” You’re upset?” Bella tries to take her hand from
Sengkheang and replies” What makes you think so?” Sengkheang replied” Your
eyes!” Bella replied” Yes, I am. Because you're last seen makes me freaking out!”
Sengkheang pulled Bella next to him and asked” What last seen?” Bella looked at
Sengkheang and replied,” Never mind but can you take off your hands from me?”
Sengkheang replied” No!” Bella felt even more angry and she replied” And what
do you want? I’m busy. I need to go home now!” Sengkheang replied,” I’m asking
for your phone number?” Bella is standstill with shyness and she looks away and
she replies” I don’t remember it.” Sengkheang replied,” Everyone is looking at
us.” Bella looked at the people around her shy and worried and she replied” Fine,
give me your phone.” Sengkheang hands his phone to Bella and Bella starts to type
her phone number for him. Then she gives it back to him. Sengkheang took his
phone and replied,” Thank you.” And he walks back to class.
Bella just can’t stop smiling and suddenly, Layla returns. Layla saw her sister
smile like that she asked” What makes you so wild?” Bella replied” Nothing. Let's
go home. I will be late for Richard’s birthday.”

Bella was trying to find the best clothes for herself but she just didn’t know
which one was right for her. Bella looked at her sister and asked” Help me,
please?” Layla laughs and she walks to help her sister. Layla was looking for

 Layla drives her sister to a birthday party but she doesn’t join the party. When
they arrived, Layla said to her sister” Call me when it finishes.” Bella replied with
a smile” I will.” Layla smiled and replied” Enjoy your first date! And she takes
off.” Bella asked back with wonder” What date?”
Then Bella walks into the party. There are a lot of people having fun. Bella
walks with a little bit of fear and suddenly, Mrs. Rose runs to Bella and speaks
with a smile” Oh, welcome Bella. I miss you so much! And she hugs Bella.” Bella
replied,” I miss you too.” Mrs. Rose replied,” Come on.”
Mrs. Rose leads Bella to a table where 3 people are sitting but what makes
Bella speechless is that Sengkheang is sitting there too. Sengkheang has been
looking at her since she arrived at the party and that makes Bella feel even more
nervous. Sengkheang just can’t keep his eyes away from Bella and Bella feels very
shy. Bella sits down next to Sengkheang but they don’t talk to each other. Bella
doesn’t want Sengkheang to look at her all the time in front of other people like
that so she acts like she’s confident and she talks to Sengkheang” So, you know
Richard too?” Sengkheang replied,” No, I know his mother.” Bella stays quiet and
suddenly, people sitting there saying” Come on, let's have a drink!” Bella replied”
Oh, sorry! I don’t drink.” Sengkheang looks at Bella with a little smile.
A few minutes later, Bella gets up and says” Excuse me!” and she walks out.
Sengkheang looks at her while she’s leaving. Bella walks into the house and she
walks into a study room. There are a lot of books in there. Bella starts to look at
all those books and then she picks one book and she starts to read. Suddenly,
Sengkheang arrived. He’s standing behind Bella. Then he asked,” Have a good
look around?” Bella falls in fear and she turns to Sengkheang and replies” What?”
Sengkheang walks toward Bella which makes Bella feel even more afraid. Bella
said with nervousness” You’re drunk!” Sengkheang replied” I don’t drink. Just
like you.” Sengkheang looked at Bella’s hand and he saw she was holding a book.
It’s a Romeo and Juliet story. Sengkheang said” Romeo and Juliet is not a love
story. It’s a 3-day relationship between a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy
that caused 6 deaths. Sincerely, everyone who reads it.” Bella looked at
Sengkheang with fear and she replied” No, it wasn’t meant like that.” Sengkheang
asked,” Then, what?” Bella replied with fear” The moral of Romeo and Juliet is
one of letting old family wounds go, and not letting your emotions rule your life.
The Montague and the Capulets have let an old family rivalry take over their lives.
They refuse to have anything to with each other.” Sengkheang bends down next to
Bella’s face. Bella remains quiet and nervous. Her mind is complicated every time
Sengkheang is next to her. Then, Sengkheang whispers to her ear” You should
change your name to Juliet and I’ll change mine to Romeo and see how can we
change the history.” Sengkheang looks at Bella and he bends to kiss her lips but
Bella feels so nervous that Sengkheang doesn’t kiss her. She looked down and
looked up at Sengkheang and she said” I need to go.” And Bella walks out.
Bella can’t stop her mind from thinking about Sengkheang. She walks to the
road and starts to make a call to her sister but Layla doesn’t pick up the call.
Suddenly, Sengkheang walked next to her and said” I can drive you home.” Bella
replied with nervousness” Oh, no thank you. Layla will pick me up.” Sengkheang
replied” But she doesn’t pick up your call.” Bella looks at Sengkheang with
embarrassment. Then, Sengkheang walks to his motorbike. He drives toward Bella
and he says” Get on.” And Bella gets on with nervous. Sengkheang asked,” You’re
ready?” Bella replied” Hmm.” And Sengkheang takes off.

Finally, Sengkheang has driven Bella home. She got off and said,” Thank
you.” Sengkheang smiled and replied,” I’ll call you tonight.” Then, Sengkheang
drives off. Bella gets into her house with a smile. When she entered her room, she
saw Layla was watching TV. Layla smiles and asks” So, how was your first date?”
Bella replied” How could you do that to me, Layla? You’re not helping me! You’re
helping him.” Layla replied with a smile” I was helping you both.”
10:00 At Night
Bella was waiting for the call from Sengkheang but he didn’t phone her. Bella
feels so upset for herself. Suddenly, Layla wakes up and asks” You’re not sleeping!
What’s wrong?” Bella replied” Nothing. I just don’t feel asleep.” Layla replied,”
Come on, tell me and you will feel better.” Bella looked at her sister and said” He
said he’ll phone me tonight.” Layla moves next to her sister and she hugs Bella
and says” I’m so sorry.” Bella speaks with broken heart” I can close my eyes to
things I don't want to see, but I can't close my heart to things I don't want to feel.
It’s hard to pretend you love someone when you don't, but it’s harder to pretend
that you don't love someone when you do. It hurts when you're being ignored by
the person whose attention is the only thing you want in the world. It hurts when
you realize you aren't as important to someone as you thought you were. My body
and heart weren't made for this. I'm tired of being tired and I'm tired of being sad.
I don't know where I stand with him. And I don't know what I mean to him. All I
know is that every time I think of him, all I wanna do is be with him. Sometimes I
wish I were a little kid again; skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts.
Layla replied with tears” Enough. He’s going to be sorry he lost you, so stop
worrying. Forget the past, forget the pain, and remember what an incredible girl
you are. Never lose yourself while trying to hold on to someone who doesn’t care
about losing you. The relationship is like glass. Sometimes it’s better to leave them
broken than try to hurt yourself putting it together. Come on! It’s time to sleep.

At A Coffee Shop
It was raining very badly and many people ran into a coffee shop.
Sengkheang and his friends were sitting at the table drinking coffee. Suddenly,
Bella and Layla arrived. They’re wet and they have no chair to sit on when they
arrive. Sengkheang looks at Bella and suddenly, Layla tells Bella that Sengkheang
is looking at her. Bella looks at Sengkheang and then she looks away. There are
free chairs next to the table where Sengkheang was sitting. Sengkheang gets up
and walks to Bella. Layla speaks to her sister” He’s coming.” Bella starts to feel
shy and nervous again. She looks at Sengkheang with pain and nervous. When
Sengkheang reached them, he said” There’s a free chair at my table.” Bella replied
immediately” No, thank you. We’ll leave as soon as possible.” Layla replied,” We
don’t know how long this rain is going to take and we just can’t stand here.”
Sengkheang replied” Layla’s right.” Bella looks at Sengkheang and she walks to
the chair.
Sengkheang orders coffee for Bella and Layla. Bella is still very disappointed
with Sengkheang. She talks nothing but Sengkheang keeps looking at her all the
time. The rain now stops. Suddenly, there’s a group of girls coming and they walk
to Sengkheang and they speak with a smile” Hello, Idol.” And Sengkheang replied
to those girls” Hi!” and they made a small conversation. Bella can’t stand
Sengkheang’s behavior so she gets up and says” Layla we should go.” Sengkheang
gets up and he grabs Bella’s hand. Bella looked at Sengkheang very angrily and
she said” What are you doing?” People start to look at them. Sengkheang leads the
way and he drags Bella to walk with him. Everyone in the room starts looking at
them with wonder. Bella feels so shy at first but then she feels so confident when
Sengkheang holding her hand in front of everybody. Bella looks at Sengkheang
with love and the hate she has before now has disappeared.
 Sengkheang leads Bella outside the coffee shop and Bella asks” Where are
we going?” Sengkheang replied,” I want to show you something.” Bella replied,”
Well, show it then.” Sengkheang replied,” It’s a place.” Sengkheang hands Bella
a helmet. Then, Sengkheang wears a helmet and he starts the engine. Sengkheang
looked at Bella and said,” Get on.” Bella wears a helmet and she gets on the
motorbike and Sengkheang takes off.
At The Top of A Mountain
03:45 in The Afternoon
Sengkheang and Bella drive to a mountain where the place that Sengkheang
loves to visit. A place full of trees, full of flowers, fresh air, and lovely sunshine
after the rain has just stopped makes the whole mountain so beautiful.
Finally, Sengkheang and Bella have arrived at the top of the mountain. They
get off the motorbike and Sengkheang walks to stand in front of Bella and says”
Welcome to my Lonely Mountain.” Bella falls in love with that view so much. She
walks and looks everywhere under the beautiful sunlight in the evening. Then Bella
asked Sengkheang” So, you own this mountain too.” Sengkheang replied” No, I
come here whenever I miss my house in Pai Lin. Don’t you like it?” Bella replied”
I love it. How did you know I’d love this kind of place?” Sengkheang walks next
to Bella and replies” Because we are implicative! I will prove to the world that
Romeo and Juliet was not a love story.” Then, Sengkheang and Bella turn their
backs on each other. Suddenly, the rain starts falling again. Bella and Sengkheang
stay quiet under the rain. Then, Bella asks” Are you afraid to make love with me?”
Sengkheang replied,” I’m afraid you break my heart or I will break yours.” Bella
grabs Sengkheang’s hands and Sengkheang grabs hers. Then, Sengkheang turns
himself to stand behind Bella. Sengkheang uses his hand to move Bella’s hair from
her neck. Then, he put his hands on her waist and kissed her neck. Bella feels so
satisfied with nervous. She can’t stop showing her love to him, then Sengkheang
stops and asks” Look like you never get kissed before.” Bella shook her head and
asked back” Why did you stop?” Sengkheang replied,” We’ll have time.”
Then, Sengkheang and Bella drive back to their house. On the road,
Sengkheang takes off his helmet and throws it away. Bella asked,” What are you
doing?” Sengkheang replied” Just do it. It feels amazing.” Then, Bella takes off
her helmet and throws it away. They both are laughing on the road. Bella puts her
hands around Sengkheang while Sengkheang drives very fast. Sengkheang asks”
How do you feel?” Bella put her hands in the air and replied” I feel so good.”
 15 minutes later, Sengkheang and Bella arrive at the center of the town.
Suddenly, there is police blow a whistle on Sengkheang and Bella. Sengkheang
stops his motorbike and he asks” What’s the matter, sir?” The police replied,”
Where’re your helmets?” Bella laughs and Sengkheang replies” We lost it.” The
police replied” Well, then both of you need to pay the fine. Wait here! I’ll take a
paper fine for you.” While the police walk to take the paper, Sengkheang talks to
Bella “Hold your breath!” Bella replied” What?” Then, Sengkheang takes off
immediately.” The police looked at Sengkheang and he said” Stop it right there!”
The police get on his motorbike and he chases Sengkheang behind. Bella and
Sengkheang just can’t stop laughing while the police shout from behind to tell
them to stop.” But Sengkheang didn’t stop. He drives faster and he moves to
different places in just a minute and that makes the police catch them. Finally, the
police give up and Sengkheang with Bella drive home safely.

4:45 In The Afternoon
The rain won’t stop so Sengkheang decides to bring Bella to his house. A big
house was standing but it looked like no one was living in it. Bella asked,” So,
where are we?” Sengkheang replied” My house.” And Sengkheang led Bella inside
and Bella asked” Who stays with you?” Sengkheang replied,” I’m alone.”
When they got inside Sengkheang said” Bathroom on the second floor?”
Bella nodded and replied,” But I don’t have clothes to change.” Sengkheang
replied,” You can use mine.” Bella nodded and she left.
Then, Bella takes her phone from her pocket because she wants to make a
call to Layla but the rain has destroyed her phone. So, she just puts it on the table
and she goes to take the bath.

Layla tries to phone her sister but Bella doesn’t reply and that makes her so
worried. The fear is she’s afraid in case her parents find out about her sister’s
relationship. Bella called to all of her friends but no one has seen them.

After Bella takes the bath, she wears Sengkheang’s white dress shirt which
makes her look very sexy. Bella notices that Sengkheang has so many love story
books. Bella looks at all those books passionately. She wonders if a man like
Sengkheang loves love stories. Then, Bella walked down to the first floor where
Sengkheang was waiting. When Bella arrived, she asked” Can I use your phone? I
need to call to Layla!” Sengkheang looks at her with romance. She’s just like an
angel who comes from heaven with a white shirt. Sengkheang can’t take his eyes
away from her as he walks toward her. Bella feels so shy when Sengkheang looks
at her like that. Sengkheang stands in front of Bella and he lifts her and he starts
kissing her.
07:35 At Sengkheang’s House
Bella was sleeping on the bed while Sengkheang was sitting on a chair and
he was looking at her. Then, Bella wakes up. Sengkheang walks and sits on the
bed next to Bella and he asks” So, what are you dreaming about, Juliet?” Bella
smiled she got up and asked” What time is it now?” Sengkheang replied” 07: 35.”
Bella replied” Oh, no! I need to go home.

Layla was so worried about her sister. Suddenly, Mrs. Alice arrives at her
room and asks” Where’s your sister?” Layla replied with nervous” She’s with her
friends.” Mrs. Alice asked” What’s she doing? It’s nearly 8:00 now.” Layla
replied,” She’s going to have an exam so she needs to work harder.” Mrs. Alice
replied,” I hope you’re not lying to me, Layla.” Layla replied,” No, I’m not, Mom.”
Mrs., Alice replied,” Alright, phone her and tell her to come back home now.”
Then, Mrs., Alice walks away while Layla takes a deep breath.
08:10 At Night
Sengkheang now has driven Bella to her house. Bella got off the motorbike
quickly and said” Goodbye.” And she enters her house. And Sengkheang drives
back to his home.
 Bella was about to enter her but Mrs. Alice asked” Bella! Where were you?”
Bella replied,” Mom, I was with my friends.” Mrs. Said” With your friends.” Bella
replied with fear” Yes, with my friend.” Mrs. Alice asked,” What were you doing
with your friends?” Bella replied” We have homework so…” Mrs. Alice replied,”
Layla said you’re going to have an exam.” Bella replied,” Yeah, exam.” Mrs. Alice
continues” Alright, take the bath and have dinner.” Bella replied,” I will.” Then
Bella enters her room.
Layla was so mad at her sister. When Bella enters the room, Layla asks with
anger” Where have you been? Mom almost kills me.” Bella replied” I’m so sorry.
I tried to phone you but my phone died.” Layla replied,” Bella, I can’t do this all
the time.” Bella walked to her sister and said” I’m sorry. I won’t let this happen
again. I promise.” Layla smiles and Bella continues” Alright, I have to take the
bath now.”

Bella was reading her book while Layla was in the bathroom. Layla took her
sister’s clothes to wash and then she found something weird. Layla walks out to
Bella and asks angrily” Tell me what did you do today?” Bella starts to feel nervous
and she replies” Nothing. We’re just….” Layla interrupts” There’s blood on your
clothes. If you don’t tell me, we’re not sisters anymore.” Bella replied,” Fine, but
don’t freak out when you know.” Layla replied,” Alright, say it.” Bella answers” I
sleep with him.” Layla’s freaking out and asked loudly with shock” You what?”
Bella replied” Hey, keep your voice down. Mom could hear you.” Layla replied”
Bella, what were you thinking? I just can’t believe it. What happens if Mom and
Dad find out about it? You’re making a big mistake. A few days ago, you were
just so upset about him.” Bella replied with sadness” I know but I can’t stop loving
him.” Layla sat down next to her sister and said” Look, I’m sorry if my words
make you unhappy but what I do is because I care about you.” Bella looked at her
sister and replied” I know. You love me more than I love myself. I’m lucky because
I have a sister like you.”

 Today is the exam day. Sengkheang hopes that this term he will beat Jane.
During the exam, Bella and Sengkheang sit very far from each other but they
always look at each other. The exam takes place for 4 days. There are Listening,
Speaking, Reading, and writing.

Bella was in her room with her sister. Suddenly, Sengkheang texts her” I’m
coming to your room.” Bella replied” No, you can’t. My sister and my parents are
now with me.” Sengkheang replied” I don’t care. I want to see you.” Bella replied,”
How do you come into my room?” Sengkheang replied,” Through the window.”
Bella replied,” Don’t do it.” Sengkheang replied” Or I will go through the door
and ask permission from your parents.” Bella replied” You’re crazy. They will kill
us.” Sengkheang replied,” Then, I have to go through the window.”
Bella looked at her sister and said” He’s coming. Can we have a little privacy,
please?” Layla asked with wonder” Who coming?” Bella replied,” It’s him.” Layla
replied with a smile” What?” Bella continues” Alright, just let me talk to him for
a few minutes and I assure you that he will go back.” Layla replied” Be careful.
Mom and Dad are here.” Bella replied,” I know.” Then Bella starts to prepare her
room.
A few minutes later, Sengkheang climbs through the window and he enters
Bella’s room. Bella was standing when Sengkheang got in. They look at each other
for a minute without saying anything. Then, Bella said,” So, we’re not gonna say
anything or we’re just staring at each other.” Sengkheang was so sad. Then,
Sengkheang walks to Bella and he hugs her. Bella started to feel worried and she
said” Are you okay?” Sengkheang replied with tears in his eyes” I am strong, but
I am tired, Bella, tired of always having to be the strong one, I am tired of always
having to do the right thing. I feel like I'm already tired tomorrow. Just so tired of
being me. I’m sick of crying, tired of trying, yes, I’m smiling but inside I’m dying.
My body and heart weren't made for this. I’m tired of being tired and I’m tired of
being sad.” And all the words Sengkheang said make Bella feels so sad for
Sengkheang. This was the first time that Bella saw Sengkheang was in a bad
situation. He needs someone to look after him. He needs someone to heal him
inside.

Bella was looking for some books in a library. Suddenly, Sengkheang
arrived. He walks to Bella and says” Looking for Romeo and Juliet part two?”
Bella smiled and said,”, So, what are looking for?” Sengkheang replied,” I’m
looking for you.” Bella smiles and replies”, I was talking about the books.”
Sengkheang replied,” No, I’m talking about you.” Bella laughs and replies”
Alright.” Sengkheang asked,” Should we have some coffee?” Bella nodded.

01: 20 In The Afternoon
Bella and Sengkheang were eating and drinking. Then, Bella asked,” Are you
feeling better right now?” Sengkheang replied” Yeah.” Bella smiles and
continues” Why don’t you just talk a bit about your story.” Sengkheang replied”
My story.” Bella replied,” Yeah, like your past, your study at University, or about
something you like.” Sengkheang replied,” I just don’t think asking a bunch of
arbitrary questions about someone’s past is gonna tell you who they are.” Bella
laughs and Sengkheang continues” I can find out who you are by sitting next to
you and spending time with you.” Bella nodded with a smile and she stared at
Sengkheang. Sengkheang starts feeling weird when he sees Bella looking at him
like that. Then, Sengkheang asked” What?” Bella laughs and replies” I’m just
waiting for you to reveal your true color to me by sitting here and spending time
with you.” Sengkheang laughs and replies” Okay, fair enough. Ask me one
question.” Bella smiles and asks” If you don’t believe in true love, why do you
have so many love stories books.” Sengkheang replied,” Who says I don’t believe
in true love?” Bella replied,” Once when Teacher Thorin asked you.” Sengkheang
smiles and replies” Well, maybe you shouldn’t believe everything I said then.”
And they both laugh.

After coffee, Sengkheang brings Bella to his house and they spend time
together. Bella was sleeping on Sengkheang’s chest while Sengkheang was
reading Romeo and Juliet's story. Sengkheang reads” A glooming peace this
morning with it brings. The sun for sorrow will not show his head. Go hence, to
have more talk of these sad things; For never was a story of more woe than this of
Juliet and her Romeo.” Bella smiled and said,” Love is heavy and light, bright and
dark, hot and cold, sick and healthy, asleep and awake- it’s everything except what
it is.” Sengkheang kisses Bella and he replies” How could you remember it so
well? Even Shakespeare forgot it sometimes.” Bella laughed and replied,” How
could you know that!” Sengkheang replied,” Know what?” Bella answers” You
said that Even Shakespeare forgot his quote! How did you know that?”
Sengkheang smiled and replied,” I just guess.” And they both laugh.
At 5:30 in the evening, Sengkheang drives Bella home.
A Week later
Otarmar Village
Now, it’s a holiday for students. Sengkheang doesn’t stay in Serei
Saophoan Town anymore. He goes back to his hometown in Otarmar Village.
He can’t see Bella and that makes him very unhappy. Bella’s always thinking about
Sengkheang every day although they sometimes text each other. They hope the
school will start soon. Sengkheang goes to rice fields every evening. He comes to
see sun set and he misses Bella so much. Some nights he’s even dreaming about
her.

It’s Khmer New Year's Day and there is a big event at the center of the town.
A ton of people are coming to celebrate the Khmer New Year. There is a big
concert and other great events. Bella and her sister were having fun with their other
friends. However, Bella always expects that she will meet Sengkheang during the
Khmer New Year.

The number of people is increasing and it is very difficult to move from one
place to another place. Sengkheang and his friends were walking in the crow and
suddenly, Sengkheang saw Bella. She was with her sister and Bella saw him too.
They’re staring at each other with signs of missing each other so much.
Sengkheang walks toward her but suddenly, people start to move very quickly
which makes Sengkheang hard to reach Bella. Bella tries to look at Sengkheang
but she can’t find him. Bella looks around but there’s no sign of him.
Bella feels so upset but suddenly, she feels that Sengkheang is standing
behind her. And she’s right. Sengkheang was kissing her hair while other people
started to stand like a wall to protect them. Bella grabs Sengkheang’s hands and
she smiles and suddenly, water is released from the cars to the crow. Everyone
starts to sing and dance happily.
After that, Sengkheang and Bella started to walk to see other great places.
They meet many other people who come from different places. They walk and run
across the crow. They just can’t stop laughing. Then, they buy something to eat.
04:30 In The Afternoon
Bella and Sengkheang walk and run everywhere. Then, they feel very tired.
They decide to go to Sengkheang’s house. When they arrive, Sengkheang makes
tea and they drink together. Then, they spend time together until 6:00 in the
evening.
Sengkheang and Bella go back to the place where they celebrate Khmer New
Year. A lot of people are still staying there. Bella and Sengkheang are just standing
there and watching other people dance.

A Week Later
Now, it’s time for students to go back to their schools. Bella is preparing for
her 12th-grade exam. She works hard every day so she doesn’t have much time to
meet with Sengkheang like before.
At Sovannaphumi School
03:00 In The Afternoon
 Bella and her sister just finished their classes and they walked to their
motorbike. Suddenly, Layla saw Sengkheang was waiting on his motorbike. Layla
said to her sister” Look! Who’s here?” Bella looks at Sengkheang with surprise
and shyness. Sengkheang saw Bella, so he walked to her. Other students start
looking at them. Sengkheang walks next to Bella and Bella asks with anger” What
are you doing here?” Sengkheang didn’t reply. He grabs Bella’s hand and he drags
her to walk with him. Students around there were in wonder while Bella was
speechless. When they arrived motorbike, Sengkheang said” Get on.” Bella
replied,” Where are we going?” Sengkheang lifts Bella and puts her on his
motorbike and he takes off.
On the road, Bella feels so relaxed. She forgets all of her problems even her
12-grade exam.
At A Small House on A Mountain
Sengkheang and Bella finally arrive at a small house on a mountain.
Sengkheang leads Bella inside the house. It’s such a beautiful house. Bella looks
at the house and asks” Where are we?” Sengkheang replied,” At my house.” Bella
asked,” What are we doing here?” Sengkheang replied,” I’m cooking food for
you.” Bella laughed and said,” You know how to cook too?” Sengkheang
replied,” We’ll see.” Then, Sengkheang starts to cook. Bella walked next to
Sengkheang and said” Should I help you.” Sengkheang replied,” You know how
to cook?” Bella smiled and replied” Of course, I can. I’m a girl.” And they start to
cook together.
An hour later, the food was cooked and they started eating. They were having
fun. They talk and they laugh. And finally, they spend time together.

Sengkheang drives Bella back home. Bella gets off from motorbike and she
says goodbye to Sengkheang. Sengkheang smiles while Bella enters her house.
Suddenly, Bella feels dizzy. Sengkheang gets off from his motorbike to hold her.
Sengkheang asks with fear” Are you okay? Should we go to see the doctor?” Bella
replied,” No, I’m alright.” I just feel tired. I will be better after getting some rest.”
Sengkheang asked,” You’re sure?” Bella nodded and she entered her house.

A Week Later
07:20 In The Evening
Bella feels not well and sometimes she finds strange things coming from her
body. She spends more time in the room than usual. Layla notices that her sister is
hiding something from her. When Bella comes out of the restroom, she looks so
tired. Layla saw her sister in a bad situation like that, so she decided to ask” Are
you alright?” Bella replied” Yeah, I think so. But I think there’s blood come out of
me.” Layla falls in shock” Blood!” Bella replied” Yeah, but I think it’s normal for
a girl to have things like that.” Layla replied with worried” It’s not, Bella.” Layla
looked at her sister with fear and asked” What happened to you?” What did you
do?” Bella starts to feel nervous. Layla continues” When you’re with him, did you
ask him about it?” Bella replied” About what? No, I didn’t.” Layla replied with
nervousness” Or you could be pregnant.” Bella replied with fear” What are you
talking about?” Layla continues” Bella, what are you thinking about? It could be
true. And if it was, what are you going to do?” Bella started to cry and Layla said”
You should ask him before it’s too late.”

A Few Day Later
Bella drives her motorbike to Sengkheang’s house. When she arrives, she
enters the house. But it seems things have changed so much. Bella was so worried
when she saw. Glass was broken on the floor everywhere. Clothes fall apart
everywhere. The tables and chairs are broken. It looks like someone was
destroying it. Bella walks in with fear and she calls” Kheang! Are you here?” But
no one replied. Then there’s the sound of breaking glass in a room. Bella walked
into that room and she saw Sengkheang was so sick sitting on a chair with so much
pain and depression inside him. Bella asked,” Are you alright?” Sengkheang
replied,” I can’t stop loving her.” Bella asked with tears” Who? Your Ex?”
Sengkheang continues with tears in his eyes” I think making love with you will
make me forget her but it makes me miss her even worse. Each night I put my head
to my pillow and I try to tell myself that I’m strong because I’ve gone a day without
her. But when I get up, she’s still in my head. I gave her my heart; I didn’t expect
to get it back in pieces.” Sengkheang’s words are like thousands of arrows stabbing
into Bella’s heart. Bella replied with a cry” How could you talk like that to me,
Kheang?” Sengkheang replied” Or you want me to write it down.” Sengkheang
gets up and walks to Bella. He stands before her and says with tears” We should
separate. I’m fed up with pain. I don’t know how long I can survive.” Bella slaps
Sengkheang’s face and she hits his chest. Then, she said” I don’t know what to do.
Just tell me should I bring her back to you?” Sengkheang replied with tears” You
just need to leave. I want to be alone.” After hearing that word, Bella cries even
more. Then, Bella said,” You’re not the one I used to know, Kheang!” Sengkheang
replied,” Just leave.” Bella looks at Sengkheang and she walks out in pain. Words
cannot describe how much she hurts inside. Sengkheang doesn’t know that Bella
is sick too. She runs to her motorbike with a cry. She even cries when she drives
back to her house. When she arrives home, she locks herself in the room and keeps
crying.

Bella was so sick but she never let her parents know. Layla was so worried
about her sister. She buys medicine for Bella but Bella doesn’t get any better.

Sengkheang was so sick. His family was looking after him. They don’t know
what happens to him and Sengkheang never tells his family about his relationship.
Sengkheang’s situation was as bad as Bella’s situation. They both not only suffer
from physical pain but also mental pain. Depression comes over them.

 Everyone seems so quiet. Sengkheang and Bella are absent. Mr. Thorin asked
Layla” So, where’s your sister, Layla?” Layla replied with nervousness” Ah, she’s
busy.” Mr. Thorin replied” Oh! And does anyone know about Sengkheang?”
Everyone in the room remains silent.

At Bella’s House
07: 20 In The Evening
Bella was in the bathroom. She was so sick. Layla arrived from school. She
enters her room and she saw blood on the floor. Layla was in shock and she called”
Bella?” Layla walks to the bathroom and opens the door. Layla cried out when she
saw her sister. Blood is everywhere with Bella. Layla tries to move Bella out of
the bathroom. Bella was too weak to speak. Layla looks at her sister with a cry.
She doesn’t know what to do. Then, she runs to her parents’ room. When she
arrives, Layla speaks with a cry to her mother” Mom, she doesn’t stop bleeding.
A few minutes later, an ambulance arrives at Bella’s house. Bella was
brought to the hospital immediately. Mrs. Alice was almost having a heart attack.
She cries for her daughter while Mr. Jefferson is so angry and worried.
At The Hospital
Bella was in an emergency room. Doctors are helping her while Layla, Jack,
and their parents are waiting outside. They’re all in shock. About 15 minutes later,
a doctor came out. Mr. Jefferson runs toward the doctor and asks” What happened
to my daughter? How’s she now?” The doctor talks with Mr. Jefferson for a while.
Mr. Jefferson looks at his daughter and the doctor continues” She was so depressed
which is hard for her to resurrect.” the doctor leaves. Mr. Thorin was so angry. He
walks to Layla and asks her with anger” What happened to your sister?” Layla
cries. She’s not brave enough to speak the truth. Mr. Jefferson said angrily” You
will be responsible for this, Layla! You will be responsible for your sister.” Layla
speaks with tears” She has a boyfriend.” Layla cries and continues” I’m sorry. I
can’t speak anymore.”
An hour later, Mr. Jefferson contacts a teacher at ACD School. He was
finding out about Sengkheang. The teacher in ACD School tells everything about
Sengkheang to Mr. Jefferson like his family and the place where he lives.
A Day Later
At Otarmar Village
In The Morning
Mr. Jefferson, Mrs. Alice, and Bella were driving to Sengkheang’s house in
Otamar Village. When they arrive, Mr. Jefferson gets out of his car and walks into
Sengkheang’s house. Mr. Jefferson shouts with anger from a distance” Where are
you, Kheang? Show yourself if you are a man.” Suddenly, Sengkheang’s father
and Sengkheang’s brothers come out of the house. Mr. Can asked,” Who are you,
and who are you looking for?” Mr. Jefferson asked with anger” Is Sengkheang
your son?” Mr. Can replied,” He’s my son.” Mr. Jefferson replied,” Then, bring
him to me.” Mr. Can asked with wonder” But what the matter?” Mr. Jefferson
replied,” And why don’t you ask your crazy son!” Sengkheang hears the cream so
he asks his sister to help him walk outside. When Sengkheang came out, he saw
Mr. Jefferson, Mrs. Alice, and Layla. Layla and Mrs. Alice were crying.
Sengkheang feels that something wrong must have happened to Bella. Mr.
Jefferson saw Sengkheang, he’s walking toward him and said angrily” You, you
have to pay for this.” When Mr. Jefferson walks next to Sengkheang he hits
Sengkheang in the face. Sengkheang was so weak and sick. He falls to the ground
and Mr. Jefferson keeps hitting him. Everyone was in shock. Suddenly, Mr. Can
run to catch Mr. Jefferson and takes Mr. Jefferson away from Sengkheang. Mr.
Jefferson pushes Mr. Can away and he hits Sengkheang again. Michael and Steve
run to grab Mr. Jefferson from hitting Sengkheang. Mr. Jefferson said to
Sengkheang with anger” I will sue to the court. I will sentence you to death. You’re
killing her.” Then, Mr. Jefferson, Mrs. Alice, and Layla drive back to the hospital.
Michael and Steve walk to pick Sengkheang up while Sengkheang is crying.
The whole family has nothing to say. Mrs. Sanem and Aliya were crying. They
had no idea what was happening. Sengkheang looked at his family and said
nothing.
At The Hospital
Bella’s situation is getting worse. She lost too much blood. The doctors were
trying to help her. A few minutes later, Sengkheang and his family arrive.
Sengkheang can’t walk by himself. His brothers help him walk. Mr. Jefferson saw
the Sengkheang family, he walked toward them and said angrily” What are you
doing here?” people and doctors around started looking at Mr. Jefferson. Mr. Can
replied” We’re worried about your daughter. My son was sick too but he insists to
see your daughter.” Mr. Jefferson replied,” After he meets her, will my daughter’s
situation be getting better?” Mr. Jefferson looks at Sengkheang and shouts” Get
out. Get out now. “And Sengkheang and his family walk out. Suddenly, a doctor
arrives and says” We need a blood type “O” to help your daughter.” Mr. Jefferson
looked at Mr. Alice and Layla and he replied to the doctor” None of my family has
a blood type “O”. But she has “O” type?” Doctor replied” It’s not time to think
about that. It’s time to help your daughter. We don’t have much time.”
Sengkheang heard that Bella needed blood so he talked to his family” She
needs me. I need to help her.” Mr. Can looked at Sengkheang and said” You’re
sure about that. You’re very sick and weak right now.” Sengkheang replied,” Just
like her father said I have to pay for what I’ve done.” Then, Sengkheang’s family
brings Sengkheang to meet a doctor.
Mr. Jefferson was contacting people he knows if any of them can help his
daughter. Suddenly, the doctor arrived and said to Mr. Jefferson” We have
someone who can help your daughter now.” Mr. Jefferson replied with
nervousness” But who?” Mr. Jefferson looked back and he saw Sengkheang. Mr.
Jefferson said with anger” You again!” The doctor interrupts” It’s not time to be
tough. Your daughter needs him.” Sengkheang walked to Mr. Jefferson and said”
I have a request.” Mr. Jefferson replied,” Shout your mouth or it will be shouted.”
Mrs. Alice interrupts” Let him talk, honey.” Sengkheang said,” I want to see her
for the last time.”
Sengkheang walks into Bella’s room. She was lying down unconsciously.
When Sengkheang arrives, he bends down to kiss her and says” This is our Last
Seen.”
A few minutes later, the doctor started their operation to help Bella.

In A Small Village in Som Lot
Sengkheang now is staying at his house in Pai Lin. He comes to reign on his
Lonely Mountain after things have passed. He never met Bella since the last time
he saw her in the hospital. The last news he heard about her was that Bella had
passed her 12th-grade exam and she moved to Phnom Penh to continue her degree.
Bella and Sengkheang still think about each other although they never make any
contact. Who knows? Maybe one day they will see each other again. This world is
too small for them.
