The document discusses various topics related to the environment including ecosystems, food chains, food webs, and different types of pollution. It defines key terms like environment, ecosystem, food chain, and ecology. It explains that an ecosystem consists of biotic and abiotic factors that interact, and describes the components and functions of ecosystems. It also outlines different types of food chains and explains food webs. Finally, it discusses various forms of pollution like air, water, noise, radioactive, and solid waste pollution and their effects on the environment.

Wildlife Conservation in lndia

In 1972, a comprehensive Wildlife Protection Act was enacted for conservation and protection of wildlife in India.
Wildlife Conservation is the practice of protecting wild plant and animal species and their
habitats.
There are 18 biosphere reserves, 166 national Darks and 515 wildlife sanctuaries in India.
Dann of Kutch (Indian Wild Ass Sanctuarv) is one of the largest wildlife
sanctuary in India.
India's first National Park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, now known as Jim Corbett National
Park, Uttarakhand.
