Problem and Its Background

Introduction

Nowadays, revising descriptions have become much more of a prevalence.


Unfortunately, that sudden change affected the utmost foundation of our cultural
and social well beings - History. As well enscapsulated the very most source of our
information. Education.

The Researches are disturbed on how turbulent and common Historical


Distortion in our institution referring to our own experiences that prompt them to
make a study that will provide specific interpretations using factual data that will
enable the respondents and thee who will see this research to have a glimpse on
how this specific phenomena becomes a habitual normality in its affected
institutions.

This study will focus on how widely dissiminated historical distortion in


selected students in our institution. By doing so, the study might influence other
more recipients to study about this controversy more to fully reduce the rapid
percentage of exchange in exploited information that might lead to people
misunderstanding what really is reality. May this research stimulate other

researchers to study about this topic. To fully provide a solution to this prolonged
distortion in our history.
Background of the Study

Historical distortion is an incidence defined as the manipulation,


misrepresentation, or alteration of historical events that poses a big problem on
how we view the world and ourselves. Misperceptions, prejudiced opinions, and an
imperfect grasp of the past can result from distorting history.

The researchers can't overstate how important history is to how the


researchers view the world and themselves. Even them cannot underestimate the
uncontrollable wave of historical distortion — its impact on the significance for
education, influence on society, and insights into cognitive processes pushes them
into studying this jeopardizing act among students. It is crucial because this makes
accurate interpretation of events vague, reinforces preconceptions, and influences
students’ thoughts about how the past shaped the present.

Historical distortion not only affects a students' perceptions of the past, but it
also becomes rampant since fake news and misleading information spread all over
the internet, considering that misinformation becomes normal which lead students
to easily believe and accept whatever is presented to them.

By employing a quantitative methodology, this study investigates the factors


contributing to historical distortion and highlights the importance of addressing
this issue. The researchers will attemp to profoundly interpret related ideologies
about historical distortion’s extent in our institutions that might enable us to
provide implications on how does it affect students understanding about the past.

The first ideology will be - it is more likely that students will see and
understand historical events more easily in a way that is biased or distorted.
Secondly, Are pupils who are more adept at critical thinking and historical literacy

are less likely to be misled about the past because they are able to spot and correct
false narratives. And finally, Are sociocultural variables, including prejudices,
stereotypes, and political sway, play a part in influencing students' perceptions and
the prevalence of historical distortion. The researchers learn a lot about the various
aspects of historical distortion and how it affects education and society as a whole
by investigating these possibilities.

By conducting this research, they need to remember that the past is


instrumental on who we they and what they are today, and the new generation
should be properly informed on the truths which are hidden from them due to
various reasons. It is in this regard that the researchers prompted to focus on this
issue to shed light to underlying problems brought by twisting the facts and how it
influences the perceptions, judgements, and views of grade 10 students about
historical events. This will bring realizations to the educators and as well as the
investigators about the extent historical distortion has affected and twisted the
beliefs and principles of students that is reflected in their words and actions.

Statement of the Problem

1. How vast and expanded historical distortion in our institution?

2. Given the extended emergence of the phenomena, what are the possible
variables that makes our institution profilerated in existence of historical
distortion??

3. How do historical distortion manages to penetrate to students? What are the


possible signs of a someone being historical - impacted individuals?

4. What suggestions can the researches suggest to reduce the exposure of our
institution to the given phenomena?

B. Objective of the Study

 Main Objective
-To measure the intensity and extent of historical distortion in Selected Grade 10
Students in San Roque National Highschool

-To factual analysis and visuals using numeracies and graphs to showcase the rapid
increase of students who is affected by this phenomena

 Specific Objective
-To give student’s understanding that not everything they believe are accurate and
true

-To put awareness to always check for legitimacy of an information

Purpose of the Study

This Research will not be only consequential to the respondents but also to
those people around them that will be able to access this study. Studying the
Extended Emergence of Historical Distortion in our institution will provide
sufficient information and evidences to prove that Distortion in History on the
Aspect of Education still persists. This will give students a new understanding that
not everything taught to them by textbooks and other variables including social
media are accurate and veracious. This study will open up students mind that
checking the legitimacy of an information is crucial in comprehensive

understanding of history who is often manipulated by person who governs a
specific authority.

Additionally, studying the existence of this phenomena will give our


respondents idea that such problem exists. This will help them to be much more
systematic in understanding complexities in history. It can also be a gateway for
students to realizing that our very own roots of history can and has been
manipulated and utilized by people politically or do have some ideological
purposes that contests what really is the underlying fact. By realizing that such
atrocities exists, The study might push students to always be mindful to
informations that they came across to.

In line with the previous argument, putting the spotlight in studying this
phenomena will be beneficial for the readers in understanding how historical
distortion becomes an ingredient in making distorted political ads and biased
patterns of lies and one sided arguments that they use to decieve people for their
very own benefits. This will enable more activitist that will fight for any oppressor
that might put our country in jeopardy.

Historical Distortion also comes with real - life consequences and aftermath.
Stereotyping and Glorifying Discriminations with the accompaniment of illegal
human acts being one of the instance. So This study can be an alternative solution
in correcting those falsehood informations that are well disseminated across
locality. And promote an inclusive society with accurate and precise understanding
of our history.

To sum it up, by studying this phenomena in our very own institution can be
an initiative for developing more factual based accurate information, provide clear,
concise and nuanced understanding about the past, and correcting misconceptions
and misinterpretations about what really happened previously.
