Background of the Study
Historical distortion not only affects a students' perceptions of the past, but it
also becomes rampant since fake news and misleading information spread all over
the internet, considering that misinformation becomes normal which lead students
to easily believe and accept whatever is presented to them.
The first ideology will be - it is more likely that students will see and
understand historical events more easily in a way that is biased or distorted.
Secondly, Are pupils who are more adept at critical thinking and historical literacy

are less likely to be misled about the past because they are able to spot and correct
false narratives. And finally, Are sociocultural variables, including prejudices,
stereotypes, and political sway, play a part in influencing students' perceptions and
the prevalence of historical distortion. The researchers learn a lot about the various
aspects of historical distortion and how it affects education and society as a whole
by investigating these possibilities.

variables that makes our institution profilerated in existence of historical

B. Objective of the Study
Main Objective
-To measure the intensity and extent of historical distortion in Selected Grade 10
Students in San Roque National Highschool
-To factual analysis and visuals using numeracies and graphs to showcase the rapid
increase of students who is affected by this phenomena
Specific Objective
-To give student’s understanding that not everything they believe are accurate and
true
This Research will not be only consequential to the respondents but also to
those people around them that will be able to access this study. Studying the
Extended Emergence of Historical Distortion in our institution will provide
sufficient information and evidences to prove that Distortion in History on the
Aspect of Education still persists. This will give students a new understanding that
not everything taught to them by textbooks and other variables including social
media are accurate and veracious. This study will open up students mind that
checking the legitimacy of an information is crucial in comprehensive

understanding of history who is often manipulated by person who governs a
specific authority.
In line with the previous argument, putting the spotlight in studying this
phenomena will be beneficial for the readers in understanding how historical
distortion becomes an ingredient in making distorted political ads and biased
patterns of lies and one sided arguments that they use to decieve people for their
very own benefits. This will enable more activitist that will fight for any oppressor
that might put our country in jeopardy.
Historical Distortion also comes with real - life consequences and aftermath.
Stereotyping and Glorifying Discriminations with the accompaniment of illegal
human acts being one of the instance. So This study can be an alternative solution
in correcting those falsehood informations that are well disseminated across
locality. And promote an inclusive society with accurate and precise understanding
of our history.
To sum it up, by studying this phenomena in our very own institution can be
an initiative for developing more factual based accurate information, provide clear,
concise and nuanced understanding about the past, and correcting misconceptions
and misinterpretations about what really happened previously.
