Conference topics
Slovenian Conference on Artificial Intelligence and its predecessor Intelligent Systems
are traditional conferences at the Information Society multiconference. Information
technology is transforming the global and the Slovenian society, and artificial
intelligence is becoming the key driver of this transformation. It is increasingly clear
that artificial intelligence has the potential do drastically boost the economy, tackle
many societal challenges, and bring about a brighter future. However, as any powerful
technology it has its downsides and dangers, so it has to be developed and applied
judiciously. The conference addresses artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and their
applications in the information society. It seeks to present state-of-the-art methods and
applications to real-life problems. Even more so than in previous years, it wishes to be
a forum for discussion of the role of artificial intelligence in the society, what future is
likely to bring, and how to steer it so that artificial intelligence changes our lives for the
better. We welcome papers from the academia and the industry.

The conference will focus on the following topics:

• Artificial intelligence • The impact of artificial intelligence on the society

• Intelligent systems • Policy related to artificial intelligence
• Machine learning • Ethical and legal perspectives
• Data mining • Intelligent systems in:
• Intelligent agents o Health
o Industry
• Decision support systems
o Science and research
• Computational intelligence
o Education
• Ambient intelligence o Government
• Language models and technologies ... and elsewhere

Instruction for authors

We call for papers on the topics of the conference, which should be accessible to a
relatively wide audience. The papers should not exceed four pages, and should
preferably be written in English, although Slovene papers are also accepted. Template
files are available on the conference submission page together with the paper
submission link. The papers will be reviewed by the Programme Committee. The
accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and presented at the
conference. An award will be given to the best paper selected by the Programme
Committee. Extended versions of selected papers will be invited to the Informatica
journal.
Conference programme and participation
To enable everyone interested to attend, the conference will be hybrid, happening live
and remotely, for presenters and participants. The presentations will be organised in
sessions depending on the papers’ topic and language. By default, the presentations
shall be given in English. The time allocated for each presentation will be 15–20 minutes
(including discussion). In addition to the regular conference sessions, we plan:
• Keynote on trustworthy AI by Mykola Pechenizkiy of Eindhoven University of
Technology
• Data Science Meetup where data scientists from the industry will give short
presentations of their work

Vsebina konference
Informacijska tehnologija spreminja svetovno in slovensko
družbo, in umetna inteligence postaja gonilo teh sprememb. Vedno bolj jasno postaja,
mnogih družbenih problemov in nasploh svetlejšo prihodnost.

Konferenca bo obravnavala predvsem naslednje teme:

• umetna inteligenca, • pomen umetne inteligence za družbo,

• inteligentni sistemi, • politične usmeritve glede umetne inteligence,
• strojno učenje, • etične in regulatorne perspektive,
• iskanje zakonitosti v podatkih, • inteligentni sistemi v:
• inteligentni agenti, o zdravstvu,
o gospodarstvu,
• sistemi za podporo pri odločanju,
o znanosti in razvoju,
• računska inteligenca,
o izobraževanju,
• ambientalna inteligenca, o javni upravi,

Prispevke bo pregledal in ocenil programski odbor. Sprejeti prispevki bodo objavljeni v

zborniku in predstavljeni na konferenci. Najboljši prispevek po izboru programskega
odbora bo nagrajen. Izbrani prispevki z vseh konferenc Informacijske družbe bodo v
razširjeni obliki povabljeni za objavo v reviji Informatica.
Izvedba konference
predstavljali svoje delo

Pomembni datumi
27. avgust 2024: rok za oddajo prispevkov
10. september 2024: obvestilo avtorjem o sprejetju in pripombah recenzentov
17. september 2024: rok za oddajo končne različice prispevkov
