1. OVERVIEW
DTC-7700 has improved many functions of DTC-7000; a color LCD is adopted as the display, the process
control output required for sequence control is much extended to automatically control all processes
including not only the general sequences (fill, drain and valve) but also dye preparation and measurement
in the color kitchen, transfer and input, and the dosing function is incorporated into the system to
automate the entire dyeing process.
On the other hand, the work process memory capacity is much expanded to memorize 680 work patterns with
253 steps of normal dyeing, 480 work patterns with 125 steps of base dyeing, 999 work patterns with 20
steps of merge dyeing. The system also diversified the analogue channel to 8 input channels and 8 output
channels to cover temperature control, auxiliary tank temperature control, motor speed control, dosing
output, volume input, and it adopted the menu drive system so that even beginners can enter process and
run operation easily.

16.PARAMETER SETTING
(1). DTC Setting1 (Temperature/Max/Min/Std)
- This sets the coefficient related with temperature control and bath ratio.

[Fig. 3]

1). Parameter method

a.
: Issues +temperature alarm in case +temperature error (current temperature is high) becomes
greater than this value.

b.
: Issues -temperature alarm in case -temperature error (current temperature is low) becomes
greater than this value.

c.
: Stops time in case there is +temperature error greater than this value when the temperature
curve is in cooling process.

d.
: Stops time in case there is -temperature error greater than this value when the temperature
curve is in heating or keep process.

40
e.
: The control output becomes maximum when the temperature difference is greater than this
value, and the control output will be adjusted in proportion to the temperature difference
smaller than this value. Therefore, if this value is small, it will respond sensitively to
temperature difference however if this is too small, it can cause negative influences such as
over-shoot and cycling. Also, if this value is too large, it will take a long time for heating
as it will insensitive to temperature difference.

f.
: If heat is emitted around the machine to control, it will need constant amount of heat in
order to retain constant temperature and not to cool down. Therefore, if the output is only
proportionate to the temperature difference, it will not maintain the set temperature but it
will remain on the level where the supplied heat and emitted heat are the same. This type of
error is called the normal status error and the integral control (adjusts control output using
accumulated error) is designed to eliminated it.

g.
: Adjusts control output in proportion to the change rate or the error. In other words, if
the error is getting smaller, then it reduces the control output even further to prevent
over-shoot, and if the error is getting larger, it increases the control output even further
to reach the appropriate temperature.

h.
The control output is turned on
at fixed intervals, and the
time it is on is proportionate
to the PID value calculated.
In other words, 100% output is
constantly on during the
control cycle and 50% output is
only on for half the cycle. Theoretically, the control cycle is smaller the better, but it can
cause very noisy environment or reduce the longevity of mechanical devices such as relays and
valves, and therefore it is necessary to set an appropriate value between 10~20 seconds. If
semiconductor device such as SSR or SCR power converter is used, it is possible to set the
control cycle with small values between 1~5 seconds as it will not affect the life.

41
i.
: In general, there is delay between the change of heat source (heater, steam) and the change
of temperature. In other words, the temperature does not rise immediately after the heat is
applied, but it does after a while and the temperature will remain for some time after the
heat is removed. When the temperature curve turns from heating to keep, the temperature will
rise above the keep temperature even after the control output is turned off. If the system has
a cooling device incorporated into the process can adjust the keep temperature by cooling, but
if the system does not have a cooling device, it can only wait for the temperature to cool
down. To prevent this, the control output must be turned off for some time before the
inflection point (the point where it turns from heating to keep) and this is called the
predicted control time.

[Short] [Adequate] [Large]

j.
: This is the time set for discharging the condensed water from the steam piping at the
inflection point of the temperature curve or in the beginning of progress. PLC L0244 output is
set during the set time.

k.
: In general, when there is heat output in the keep curve, the cooling output is not sent out
as the temperature naturally falls gradually due to the emission of heat. However, in some
cases, the temperature keeps on rising without mechanical cause or chemical reactions. The
cooling output is turned on in order to prevent this when the temperature rises above
appropriate level, and this value is the cool during keep value. If the cool during keep value
is set to 0, then the cooling output is not sent out from the keep curve.

l.
: This sends out the output (L0247) in the set temperature. It can be useful as the pressure
distributor output of high pressure dyer or the high temperature alarm output. In case the
safety temperature is set to 85℃, L0247 (PLC Link Relay) is turned off at 85℃ or lower and
turned on, higher than 85℃.

m.
: This sends out the output (L0246) in the set temperature, and it can be useful as the
temperature alarm output. In case the alarm temperature is set to 140℃, L0246 (PLC Link
Relay) is turned off at 140℃ or lower and turned on, higher than 140℃.

42
n.

(5). Dtc Setting 5 (PLC Alarm Set)
- This displays or puts out characters and data on the DTC start menu screen.

[Fig. 9]

1). PLC Data

- Displays or puts out characters and data on the DTC start menu screen.
- To display characters on DTC, the flag between L0580~L058F must be set in PLC.
- L058E and L058F is the main tank temperature control and is used to control the proportioning
valve when DTC is stopped, in other words, in manual mode, when using the proportioning valve
(4~20mA).
How to Use: For manual heating, set L058 flag in PLC (set L058F for manual cooling), move a
value between 0~100(4~20mA) to word L059, then the current value will be put out through the
output channel set to 'Main Heat&Cool'.

2). PLC Alarm

- Displays various alarms on the DTC start menu screen.
- How to Use: Set L0530~L054F flags indicating characters in PLC.

53
(6). DTC Setting 6 (Dosing)
- This sets dosing tuning, service tank capacity and dosing output method.

[Fig. 10]

1). : Sets the maximum value for the service tank.

2). :The volume fed when the dosing valve is opened once while tuning
1 pulse value.
If the output method is DTC when tuning 1 pulse, the valve will be open for 0.2 seconds each
time and if it is PLC, 1 second. In other words, it will be on/off at intervals of 0.2 seconds
with DTC and 1 second, with PLC.

3). : 2 pulse value = [2 Pulse Data]-[1 Pulse Data]

If the output method is DTC when tuning 2 pulse, the dosing valve will open for 0.4 seconds
each time and if it is PLC, 2 seconds. In other words, it will be on/off at intervals of 0.4
seconds with DTC and 2 second, with PLC.

4). : Recognizes the set value as zero (0) point.

The zero point value will be set automatically when button is pressed when the service
tank is empty.

5). : Sets the volume when dosing input channel value is 20mA. Most
volume sensor puts out the current value according to the water level. It puts out 4mA when the
water level is 0[Cm] and 20mA, 100[Cm]. However the maximum height of most service tanks is
around 50~60[Cm] and it was not possible to take direct measurement of the volume when the
water level would be 100[Cm]. Therefore the volume for 20mA is entered at the user's
discretion. When there is dosing in the input channel, it will be automatically set after
tuning. The volume for 20mA will be automatically calculated by filling up the service tank

54
with water and pressing button.

6). : Select dosing output method.

PLC : Turns on/off the dosing valve through PLC L0130.
DTC : Turns on/off the dosing valve or controls the proportioning (4~20mA) of dosing valve
through DTC output channel.
