Lesson Objective(s): TSWAT


 Differentiate between living and non-living things
 Define the terms life cycle and life-span
Skills Focused on:
Observation leading to knowledge and understanding , Discovering and identification

Methodology: Prior Knowledge: (Recap Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, etc.)


Teacher will start the lesson by asking some interesting questions:
 What is your birth year?
 What is your age?
 Tell the age of your brother/sister.

After that teacher will announce that today we will learn about life cycle and life span.

Explanation: (Based on Cross-Curricular Links)


Teacher will first of all ask students if they know about living and non-living things.
Everything in the world can be sorted into living or non-living things.
Then teacher will share the characteristics of living and non-living things:
Activity: Show the pictures of the things to the students and ask them whether it is living or non-
living. (Pictures attached)

Plants and animals grow and change during their lifetime. They grow old and eventually die.

Life Cycle: A life cycle shows how a living thing grows, changes, and makes new living things. A
life cycle does not end because living things continue to exist in the world.

Life Span: The length of a life cycle, from birth to death, is known by the term lifespan.
The life span of animals and plants are not all the same. Some live a week while others live more
than 100 years.

Teacher may show video to the students if possible.

Worksheet
Teacher will guide and help students to solve the worksheet.
Wrap-up: Invite students to share their views about the life cycle of animals and plants. (They will
share about their pet animals and plants grown at their homes.)
C.W: Q- What is a life cycle? Explain its purpose.
(On notebooks)
H.W: Paste/Draw pictures of five living and non-living things.
AFL: Teacher will ask some easy questions:
 What is difference of living and non-living things?
 What is life span?
Differentiation: Teacher will ask students that whether non-living things have life cycle and life
span. (Share ideas)
