So, how we describe the information
from the diagram that we have?
1. Introduce the Chart/Graph
Your first step should be to present the graph to your audience by covering high-level information
like:
1) Its title or topic
Example:
- This diagram is a visual representation of the wheel speed conversion chart
- This line graph describes the fluctuation sales on the automatic car
2) Data source
Example:
- This chart uses data from the Z Database
- The data of the graph is compiled from survey
3) Time frame
Example:
- from 2017 until 2021
- between January to September
- in the second quarter of 2023
2. Identify Key Features
From there, you can describe the key variables that make up the graph. Graphs and charts typically have an x-
and y-axis, which represent different variables. Describing these axes will help the audience understand how
the graph displays data.
When you use a graph or chart, try to describe the movement of the line by recognizing the main patterns,
trends, or relationships they show. Use these several words to describe the movement.
