ELECTRIC GENERATOR PROPOSAL: A TWO BIG MAGNET AND

A FAN COIL

Project Objectives:
It aims to produce generator. An instant source of electricity.

Materials Needed:
1. Fan motor
2. Big magnets
3. Coil Socket
4. Plug
5. Red wire
6. Black wire
7. Capasitors

Design Plan:

Prepare the Fan Motor:

Disassemble the fan motor to access the internal components.

Mounting the Magnets: Attach the big magnets securely around the
perimeter of the fan motor casing. Ensure they are evenly spaced for
optimal performance.

Creating the Coil: Wind the coil around a cylindrical object to create a
solenoid coil. The number of turns and gauge of wire used will impact the
generator’s efficiency.

Connecting Components: Connect one end of the coil to a socket using

red and black wires. The other end of the coil should be connected to a
plug for power output.

Adding Capacitors: Integrate capacitors into the circuit to store and

regulate electrical energy, improving overall efficiency and stability.

Testing and Adjustments: Test the generator by providing power

through the plug. Monitor its performance and make any necessary
adjustments to optimize energy generation.
Fine-Tuning: Experiment with different configurations, magnet
placements, coil designs, and capacitor values to enhance the generator’s
output.

Safety Precautions: Always prioritize safety when working with

electrical components. Ensure proper insulation, grounding, and
precautions against electric shocks or short circuits.

Theory Discussion:

An electric generator is an electronic appliance that converts mechanical

energy into electrical energy. Generators do not create electricity. Instead,
it uses the mechanical energy supplied to it to force the movement of
electric charges present in the wire of its windings through an external
electric circuit.
According to Ion Boldea(2017), Faraday's law of electromagnetic
induction in 1831, electric (electromagnetic) machines have been
developed ever since as “assembles” of electric and magnetic coupled
circuits that convert mechanical to electrical energy (in generators) and
vice versa (in motors), via magnetic energy storage. Generators and
motors are reversible. The Maxwell four equations (laws) later in 19th
Century have prompted the rapid development of all basic (DC. brush and
travelling field AC machines by 1900. Then by 1930 AC (alternating
current) power (energy) systems evolved by connecting in parallel
electric synchronous generators (with voltage boost and buck electric
transformers for efficient AC power transmission lines) of rather constant
frequency and voltage, driven by turbines (prime movers) that harness
fossil (coal, gas or nuclear fuels), thermal or hydro energy. The last 50
years have witnessed a dramatic extension of generators power/unit,
renewable energy generators and of variable speed AC motor drives in
applications with variable output such as ventilators, pumps compressors,
conveyors, orr-mills, electric transport (mobility), industrial automation,
robotics, home appliances and info — gadgets. This formidable
development, required by the need of more but cleaner energy, was
mainly driven by power electronics, better materials, better modeling,
design methodologies and digital control.

Moving a magnet near a conductor such as a copper wire, it creates a

changing magnetic field around the wire. This changing magnetic field
induces an electric current to flow through the wire, according to
Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. This phenomenon forms the
basis for how electricity can be generated using magnets and copper wire.
This process is utilized in various technologies, including generators and
some types of power plants, to produce electricity.
