Technical Proposal of Cryogenic Air Separation Unit

(Double-Tower)
1. Device Overview
1. Project overview

According to the friendly negotiation between both parties, the responsibilities are divided as follows:

1.1. Scope of responsibility of the Seller in the boundary area of the air separation unit:

(1) Process design, instrument electrical design, equipment design and engineering design of the air separation unit.

(2) The supply scope of the process equipment is as follows:One self-cleaning filter, one centrifugal compressor, two air precooling

units, one secondary water separator, one molecular sieve purification system (including molecular sieve and alumina), one fractionator

system (including pearl sand), two expansion systems, one liquid nitrogen storage vaporization system, one decompression system,

instrument control system, electrical system, spare parts and special tools used by the above process equipment; see "Scope of Process

Equipment and Instrument" for details。

(3) The installation materials supplied by the seller within the air separation unit area include: process pipelines, cryogenic liquid

pipelines from cold boxes to cryogenic storage tanks, steel structure pipe galleries and brackets, steel structure equipment and valve

maintenance platforms, cable trays, Power cables, instrument cables, instrument root valves, instrument sampling pipes (made of

stainless steel), anti-corrosion and insulation materials, cutting gas, solder and other auxiliary materials required for installation work.

(4) The installation work within the boundary of the air separation unit includes the following: the installation of the equipment

mentioned in serial number (3), the installation of ancillary electrical instruments, the installation of process pipelines, steel structure

pipe galleries and brackets, the installation of steel structure equipment and valve maintenance platforms, Installation of power cables

and instrument cables, installation of cable trays, anti-corrosion insulation work, filling work of molecular sieve purification system

fillers, filling work of pearlescent sand, the insulation material in the cold box, linkage test run work, formal start-up work, flaw
detection, including the above Installation tools required for installation work.

(5) Handover Point:The high and low voltage cable transfer point is bounded by the incoming line end of the seller's high and low

voltage cabinet; the circulating water is connected by the buyer to 1 meter outside the boundary area of the air separation unit; the

product liquid transfer point is at the liquid nitrogen storage tank; nitrogen is the buffer tank in front of the outbound area Interface;

(6) Performance assessment, document delivery, technical services and after-sales services related to air separation units.

(7) Assist the buyer to complete other work related to the air separation unit.

1.2. The buyer assumes the scope of responsibilities within the boundary of the air separation unit:

(1)Responsible for the preliminary survey and detailed survey of the land within the boundary of the air separation unit and the

three connections and one leveling work within the boundary.

(2) Responsible for the civil construction work within the air separation unit area (mainly including pile foundation works, equipment

foundations, workshops, road hardening and greening work, central control room, power distribution room, pipe trenches and cable

trenches), compressor workshops and pump rooms Design, materials and construction of driving and electrical professional lightning

protection and anti-static, factory lighting, equipment lighting and telecommunications, structure, water supply and drainage,

inspection and testing, security monitoring, HVAC and fire protection engineering.

(3) Water, electricity, gas for pressure testing and mechanical materials used for test and start-up of the air separation unit.

The production process of this air separation unit is domestically advanced, and the main equipment uses imported or domestic

advanced products. The unit has many advantages such as high safety, reliable operation, strong operability, and low energy

consumption.

3.Process brief

The KDN-3000-50Y air separation equipment adopts a full low-pressure process. The process introduction is as follows:

This device uses product twin towers to produce pure nitrogen process flow

After the raw air has dust and mechanical impurities removed in the filter AF, it enters the centrifugal compressor, which compresses the

air to ~0.83MPaG.

The compressed air enters the precooling unit, is cooled to about 10°C, and then reaches saturation.

The saturated compressed air enters the alternately used molecular sieve adsorber MS, where impure substances such as moisture, CO2,
C2H2, etc. in the raw air are adsorbed by the molecular sieve.

In the nitrogen tower I, the air is separated into medium-pressure nitrogen and liquid air by rectification. After the medium-pressure
nitrogen enters the main exchanger and is reheated, it enters the expander. After expansion, it enters the main exchanger and is reheated,
and then enters the user pipe network as product nitrogen. ; The liquid air is subcooled by the cooler and then throttled into the
condensation evaporator of nitrogen tower I. Most of it is vaporized by the pure nitrogen of nitrogen tower I to obtain oxygen-rich liquid
air and oxygen-rich air, which enters nitrogen tower II to continue distillation. In the nitrogen tower II, low-pressure nitrogen, liquid
nitrogen and liquid air with higher oxygen purity are obtained. After the low-pressure nitrogen is reheated by the cooler and the main
exchanger, it enters the user pipe network as product nitrogen, and the liquid nitrogen is discharged from the cold box as product. After
throttling, the liquid air enters the condensation evaporator of nitrogen tower II and is vaporized by the pure nitrogen of nitrogen tower
II. The obtained oxygen-rich air is reheated by the cooler and main exchanger and then discharged as cold air.

5. Instrument and control system

5.1 Design principles

1. The control unit shall be able to effectively monitor the production process of the whole device to ensure the long-term, stable and
reliable operation of the device and convenient operation and maintenance.

2. In order to meet the needs of the process, the control unit adopts DCS control, combined with the side panel instrument and local
instrument control, the whole instrument control system to ensure reliable and advanced. The display, trend record, historical event
record, alarm, control, printing, tabulation and flow chart dynamic display of the main process parameters of the complete set are all
completed by the DCS system.
3. DCS control control points (AI, AO, DI, DO, RTD) shall have 15% margin. The upper machine adopts 2 workers
As a station (and operator station), equipped with color liquid crystal display, and through the public network to implement remote
monitoring and operation. The network is under the responsibility of the demander.

4. The analyzer is set in the analysis cabinet for complete sets, and the process parameters for online analysis shall be 4~20mA. DC
enters the PLC system for display, record, alarm, etc.

5. All interlocking circuits are designed according to ISA standard and adopt the principle of power loss and line break safety to ensure
the safe shutdown under the state of power loss and line loss.

6. The power supply of DCS system control system is supplied by UPS uninterrupted power supply, and the capacity is not less than 6KVA,
driving the automatic control system and monitoring workstation, and the backup battery capacity is not less than 30 MINS
(maintenance-free lead-acid battery).
7. Site instrument protection level: not less than IP55 for machinery, and not less than IP65 for electronics. Protection level of local
instrument cabinet: no less than IP20 indoor, not less than IP55 outdoor.

6. Electronic control system

6.1 Design principles

1. Under the condition of meeting the design and process requirements, the electronic control system must ensure the safe and reliable
operation and convenient operation and maintenance of the equipment.
2. The control, protection, metering and signal devices of motor and other electrical equipment shall comply with the provisions of
relevant national electrical standards or specifications.

3. The high voltage power supply is an incoming line, and the owner is responsible for leading the incoming cable to the receiving end of
the high voltage incoming line switch cabinet.

4. The low-voltage power supply is an incoming line, and the owner is responsible for leading the incoming cable to the receiving end of
the low-voltage incoming line switch cabinet.

5. When the high voltage motor starts, the voltage drop is less than 85%.

6. When the low voltage motor starts, the low voltage bus voltage drop is less than 15%.
7. Integrated control of instrument and electricity is adopted. The control, operation, interlocking and signal display of the main motor
and electrical equipment are all completed in the PLC system. According to the process needs, set up the machine side operation
(control) box on site, set up the necessary operation elements and signal instructions. The protection level of the outdoor side box is
not lower than IP55.

8. Operation, protection and signal power supply of high voltage switch cabinet adopts dc power screen DC220V, maintenance-free lead-acid
battery.

9. The regas electric heater adopts the control mode of group cutting and single group power adjustment of contactors.

10. The low voltage cabinet has about 10% standby loop except the distribution of electrical equipment provided by the device.

11. There is no reactive power compensation device for high voltage and low voltage, which shall be considered by the superior power
distribution system.
12. The demander shall provide the power grid system diagram, short-circuit capacity and single-phase ground capacitor current value
related to the device within one week after the contract becomes effective.

6.2 Design scope


1. The supplier is responsible for designing the electrical single line diagram, electrical control schematic diagram and terminal diagram
of all the electrical equipment in the nitrogen manufacturing device, and its main ones
The contents include: air compressor, air pre-cooling, purification system, fractionator, expander, process liquid nitrogen pump, standby
liquid nitrogen chain, etc.
2. Equipment layout, power and control wiring, lightning protection, grounding, lighting, and installation materials, supports, etc., as
required by the project
