Directions: For numbers 1-5, read the situation and decide whether you would most
likely see a positive association, a negative association, or no association between the
variables. Explain your choice.

Situation with Variables Association and Explanation

1. The number of hours spent babysitting and


the amount the babysitter was paid.

their score on a math test.
3. The temperature outside and the number of
layers of clothing worn.
4. The temperature outside and the amount of
ice pops sold.
