SAMPLE TEST ENGLISH I

I Make notes to the following text. Put the necessary questions first! (50points)
HEAT
According to the kinetic molecular theory of matter, the molecules of a substance
possess energy and are in constant motion. Heat is a measure of the total kinetic energy of all
the molecules in the substance.
Heat can be derived from mechanical actions like friction, or compression, from
electrical energy as well as from chemical change like that of the nuclear reactions, for
example.
Heat affects the state of matter. Sufficient addition of heat causes melting of solids
and evaporation of liquids. The removal of a sufficient quantity of heat energy may cause a
liquid to freeze or solidify.
QUESTIONS: NOTES:

II Underline the correct word (-ing/-ed): (5 points)

1. The window breaking/broken last night has now been repaired.
2. Tom isn’t used to running/run fast.
3. Do you easily get embarrassing/embarrassed?
