What is an Analog Clock?

Very good!

B. Motivation

But before we proceed to our discussion, I will present

Yes, Teacher.
a video. presentation for you to be able to understand
more the topic we are going to discuss today.

Is that okay with you, class? Analog clock and Digital clock.

https://youtu.be/w9QK_4vrnJ0
Based from the video that was shown to you earlier,
what are the two types of clock?

C. Presentation

There are two types of clock Analog clock and Digital

clock.

An analog clock is a clock that has moving hands and

(usually) hours marked from 1 to 12 to show you the
time. The short hand tells the hour of a day. That is why
it is called the hour hand. The long hand is called the
minute hand.

Unlike the analog clock that tells time using hands on a

dial, digital clock displays the time in numerical digits.

As you can see, the right part tells the minutes and the
left part tells the hour.

The time shown in the digital clock is five-thirty in the

morning.

Do you get it, class?

What are the two types of clocks?

Yes, teacher.
Clocks have duration, look at the picture.
Analog clocks and Digital clocks.

As you can see on the picture, there are O’clock,

Quarter past, Half past, Quarter to.

Now, lets have an example;

Observe the hands of the clock.

How do we write the time?

Very Good!

How do we say the time? 6:00, Teacher.

Very Good!

What about this one?

minutes. So, 6:15 means a quarter past 6. 6:15, Teacher.

Do you get it, class?

How about this one? six fifteen, Teacher

How do we write the time?

Very Good!

How do we say the time?

Remember that half of an hour is equal to 30 minutes.

So, 6:30 means half past six.
6:30, Teacher.
Do you get it, class?

Last example.
six thirty, Teacher.

How do we write the time?
