Introduction:

This comprehensive case study covers deep into the profound

effects of classroom technology on student learning, aiming to
unravel the intricate ways in which the integration of technology
influences student engagement and academic performance within the
classroom environment. Discussed by Angeline et al. (2019), that
adding technology in courses where it is not currently used is
likely to have a positive impact on student perceptions of the
instructor and on student behavior. However, removing technology
from courses that already use it would not appear to have a
negative impact on all aspects of student behavior. Overall there
are certain aspects of student behavior (the amount of time that
students study, the quantity of notes they take, their
attendance, and their interaction with the instructor) which
appear to be technology neutral. In contrast, technology tends to
have a meaningful impact on student preparation for class,
attentiveness, quality of notes taken, student participation in
class, student learning, desire to take additional classes from
the instructor or in the subject matter, and the overall
evaluation of the course and the instructor. Moreover, it
endeavors to shed light on the myriad challenges encountered by
educators as they strive to incorporate technology seamlessly
into their teaching methodologies and instructional strategies.
Explained by Stella et al.(2023), that ICT integration in schools
impacts more than just students’ performance; it affects several
other school-related aspects and stakeholders, too. Furthermore,
various factors affect the impact of digital technologies on
education. These factors are interconnected and play a vital role
in the digital transformation process. The study results shed
light on how ICTs can positively contribute to the digital
3

transformation of schools and which factors should be considered

for schools to achieve effective and efficient change.

Furthermore, the study ambitiously sets out to examine the

potential discrepancies in access to technological resources
among students, probing into how such variances may ultimately
shape educational outcomes. Through meticulous exploration and
analysis, this study endeavors to provide invaluable insights
into the multifaceted landscape of technology's impact on student
learning, serving as a cornerstone for informed decision-making
and policy formulation in the realm of educational practices.

Problem:

The primary concern being examined is the effectiveness of

utilizing technology in classroom environments to determine
whether it actually improves students' learning capacities and
encourages more involvement in their academic endeavors. Stated
by Jesus et al.(2022), there was evidence of improved performance
in educational practices enriched with ICT. Mathematics and
science are the areas of greatest interest to researchers, and it
was observed that the educational systems most oriented toward
competitiveness and educational selectivity are the most
productive in this field.

Furthermore, the investigation goes into understanding the

various obstacles that teachers face while attempting to
skillfully incorporate technology into their teaching methods. In
addition, the scope includes an investigation of any differences
in the way that students have access to technology and how those
differences could affect their academic paths. Essentially, the
main goal is to disentangle the complex dynamics surrounding the
use of technology in the classroom, from its alleged advantages
to the real-world obstacles that teachers and students face, in
4

order to provide light on the wider implications of this

integration for the goals of teaching and learning.

Methods:

In order to tackle these complex issues, the study will utilize a

range of research methods. Firstly, surveys will be administered
to collect data from students and teachers, seeking their
feedback and experiences regarding the use of technology in the
classroom. Through these surveys, valuable insights can be gained
into the impact of technology on student engagement and academic
performance. Furthermore, classroom observations will be
conducted to observe firsthand how technology is being utilized
and to understand its effects on student involvement.
Additionally, interviews with educators will be conducted to gain
a deeper understanding of the challenges they encounter when
incorporating technology into their teaching methods. By
listening to their perspectives, the study aims to uncover the
barriers to effective technology integration in education.
Moreover, a thorough analysis of existing literature and studies
on the topic will be undertaken to provide a comprehensive
overview of the subject matter, drawing upon previous research to
inform and support the findings of this study. Through this
multiple approach, the study seeks to shed light on the impact of
classroom technology on student learning, addressing key
questions and contributing valuable insights to the field of
education.

Related Study and Literature:

5

To thoroughly investigate the impact of classroom technology on

student learning, this case study will extensively review
existing studies and literature. This means it will discussed
deep into research already done to understand how using
technology in classrooms affects students. It will look at how
technology can make students more interested and involved in
their studies, and how it might even help them do better
academically. Stated by Chloe, L.(2019), students and teachers
have positive attitudes towards technology integration and feel
that is has positive impacts on learner satisfaction, promotes
engagement and facilitates academic success. Edmodo is an example
of an educational social media platform that operates to enhance
the learning process, allow students to become more familiar with
technology, meet learning goals and collaborate with peers and
instructors after school hours. It is one of the many
technological applications that can be implemented into multiple
areas of the curriculum to enhance the teaching and learning
process.

Furthermore, this will explore the challenges teachers face when

they try to use technology as part of their teaching methods.
This includes understanding the difficulties they encounter and
how they overcome them. According to Gopal et al.(2020), that one
of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-4) adopted by the
United Nations focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable
quality education for all. Most research on impact of technology
on learning outcomes depends on designs that require low student-
to-computer ratio and extensive retraining of teachers. These
requirements make the designs difficult to implement on a large
scale and hence are limited in terms of inclusivity and ability
to ‘provide equitable opportunity for all
6

Additionally, we'll examine studies that explore whether some

students have less access to technology than others, and how this
might affect their education. By carefully analyzing all this
information, our case study aims to bring valuable insights to
the ongoing conversation about the impact of classroom technology
on student learning.
