Helpful Guide Questions for Business Plan scaffolding:

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
1. What is your product or service? Give a brief description of your product or services. (i.e technical description of your
product like dimension, color, size, etc.)
2. Provide an illustration and technical description of your product.

TARGET MARKET
DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE
1. Who is your specific target market for your products and services? Provide a rationale or reasons why you choose that
market. (cite important research to justify your answers)

MARKET POPULATION
1. How big is your target customers in terms of number of population, growth trend and possible consumption rate for
your product or services? Describe your market in terms of their Socio-demographic profile (i.e. age, gender, income and
educational attainment)

MARKET NEEDS
1. Discuss in details why your customer needs your product.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
1. Do you have competitors for your product? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
2. Explain in your plan how you will beat your competitors. What are your greatest strengths?
3. What are your weaknesses that may affect to attain your business objectives? What are your plans to correct
or lessen the impact of your weaknesses?

NOTE: Use the table for COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

PRODUCT STRATEGY
1. What are the 5 to 10 most attractive features of your product? Explain your product features, advantages and
benefits in full details.
2. Explain your competitive advantage. What makes your product unique?

PRICING STRATEGY
1. Explain in detail the cost structure/computation of your pricing.
2. How much are you going to sell your product? Provide reason(s) for your pricing. Do you think your price is
reasonable for your product? Explain your answer.

3. Compute for Unit Cost, TPP, VC, FC etc.


PLACE STRATEGY (PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY)
1. How will you distribute your product from a manufacturer (or service provider) down to your customers?
Provide an illustration and explain your illustration.

2. What kind of sales promotional strategy you will use to encourage your target customers to try your product or
services. Explain your choice of sales promotional campaign and why your choice is the most effective.
Ex. Sales discount, buy one- take one promotion, free product, product samplings, raffle draw contest, bonus packs,
rebates, etc.

PRODUCTION/OPERATION PLAN
 Were they able to identify the materials needed and who will supply their materials? _________
 Were they able to identify the machines/equipment needed for the business? ________
 Were they able to illustrate the flow of production or operations or how they intend to produce the product or

ORGANIZATIONAL/ MANAGEMENT PLAN


 Organizational Structure: Highlights the hierarchy and outlines responsibilities and decision-making powers.

 Management Team: Highlights the track record of the company’s managers. You may also offer details about
key employees including qualifications, experiences, or outstanding skills, which could add a competitive edge
to the image of the business.

 Organizational (working) Structure: Highlights how your management team will operate within your defined
organizational structure
PROJECTED INCOME STATEMENT
1. Determine your projected sales for the next 12 months in peso value.
Sales= number of units sold for 12 months x Selling price

2. Determine your Cost of Goods Sold (CGS) for the next 12 months.
CGS= Number of units sold for 12 months x Cost of product

3. Determine your operating expenses for the next 12 months.

4. Prepare 5 year projection of Financial Statement: Income Statement
