Learning Objectives
Objective
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to list
and explain different extreme weather conditions,
understand the importance of safety precautions
during these events, and apply this knowledge to
protect themselves and others. This aligns with
practicing safety precautions during wet seasons.

Instructional Activities
Essential Question
What are extreme weather conditions
and why should we prepare for them?

Direct Instruction
Introduction to Extreme Weather: Types and
Characteristics. The teacher will present information
on various extreme weather conditions such as
hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and heatwaves.

Guided Practice
Class Discussion: Students will share experiences
or stories they've heard about extreme weather
and discuss the impacts. This is a great opportunity
to utilize Padlet for sharing and collaboration.
Independent Practice
Students will complete worksheets
categorizing different safety measures
for various extreme weather conditions.

Students needing more support will receive
