FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (Sem-II)

Deadline- 15 March 2024, by 12:00 noon sharp.

1. Company choice - Students are required to choose any one listed company from the
list of industries/sectors given in Annexure I. e.g. MARUTI SUZUKI from
Automobile sector. (Refer Annexure-1)

2. Objective – Students need to study, analyse/interpret –

i. Brief Company Introduction- This Section should provide details about


the core business operations of the company chosen.
ii. Overall comparison of years- A comparison should be made of the current
and prior year using ratios, financials and other brief information in support
of the discussion. This should Include Horizontal and vertical analysis.
iii. Time period of study is 5 years.
iv. Calculation of ratios- Accurate input of accounts, limited range of ratios
for current and prior year, suitability for use and presentation of data.
Compute the profitability, liquidity, solvency and activity ratios for the
latest two years and provide your interpretation for each aspect of the ratios.
Extract data for Earnings per share and Pay out ratio of the company for
5 years and do a trend analysis.

3. Format – To be done as an Excel report and a Hard copy to be submitted by


each group. Along with data and calculations student needs to comment on the
analysis of the result and mention the model used for arriving at the result.
- cover page (Refer Annexure-2), student name; Registration number, title,
page numbers, word count, folder, accounts printout, word processed
comments, copy of company accounts, other evidence all clearly indexed.
- Word limit- 1500 words, Times New Roman, Font Size-12.
- References must be clearly mentioned.
4. Marks Bi furcation: Project report (15 marks) plus Workings in excel (5 marks)
