ELLIPSIS EARTH IMAGE TAGGING GUIDELINES

tagging instructions:

bounding box tagging:

- draw a box around the outermost edges of the item, incorporating
majority of shape

- add a label to the item describing its category

ELLIPSIS EARTH IMAGE TAGGING GUIDELINES

overlapping/obscured images:

if an item is obscured eg by vegetation, the general rule of thumb is:

- if you can still tell what the item is, tag the visible portion with
either a bounding box of polygon
- add a label to the item describing its category

if an item is obscured and very unclear, tag the visible portion and label it
as ‘unknown litter’ or ‘unknown’

if you are less than 50% sure if the item is foreign or natural, do not label
the item.

if items are overlapping, please tag each item separately and add a
separate label for each tag
