To whom it may concern,

The Ocean County Clean Communities program is part of a statewide strategy to clean and
prevent litter on streets, beaches, waterways, parks, recreation sites, and vacant lots, the
involvement of different stakeholders, such as the AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassadors, is
key for a more significant impact on our environment and community.

We had the honor of working with Caroline McFarland, AmeriCorps NJ Watershed


Ambassador of the Watershed Management Area (WMA) #13, on a volunteer clean up at
Island Beach State Park on March 17th 2024; she coordinated the initiative “GO GREEN ON
ST. PATRICK'S DAY” and did an extraordinary job the day of the event. The cleanup gathered
41 volunteers and collected over 10 bags of trash and 1 bag of recyclables, a total of 221.8 lbs.

We hope to work together again in the near future with Caroline; her personality, creativity,
willingness to work, and knowledge make her a great asset to any environmental project.
