Title: 40 - Hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Virtual Training Courses

Date: April 21, 28 2024 & May 5, 12 2024

Training Proper:

During the extensive 40-hour training on Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH)
to attain the Safety Officer 2 certification, facilitated by Salus Consultancy Services, participants
were immersed in a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip them with essential skills and
knowledge in workplace safety. The training commenced with an in-depth exploration of hazard
identification, emphasizing the importance of recognizing potential risks and hazards in various
occupational settings.

Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants learned to conduct

Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control (HIRAC), enabling them to systematically
identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards effectively. The training also included
discussions on different types of hazards, ranging from physical to chemical and ergonomic
hazards, providing participants with a holistic understanding of occupational risks.

A significant portion of the training was dedicated to examining Republic Act No. 11058,
commonly known as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Law. Participants gained
insights into the legal framework governing workplace safety in the Philippines, including their
rights and responsibilities as safety officers and employers. Discussions on the importance of
safety in the workplace underscored the critical role of safety officers in promoting a culture of
safety and preventing accidents and injuries.
