Purpose Mapping
Purpose Mapping
You should commit at least an hour of focused work to completing this worksheet. If you don’t
think you can sit for an hour straight and work, don’t stress about it.
Come back to this multiple times if you need, and give it your best effort each time. This is the
cornerstone that determines your future & your fulfillment in life. This is 100% effective if you
commit time to it.
The initial segment is quite straightforward, and I'll guide you through the process. This worksheet
is designed for a reflective journey. It aims to enhance your self-awareness and provide profound
clarity. Delve deeply into your thoughts, focusing on aspects that can propel you forward.
You have to be specific, saying things like I like to watch movies is not good enough

At this point, there should already be some lightbulbs going off. Already feeling like
you’re more clear? Great. Let’s keep the momentum rolling!
If you think back to the diagram from the slides, you’ll remember seeing “Passion,
Mission, Profession & Vocation”. This is what we’re going to be getting clear on now.
Look for some connections between these two things, as you described them above.
Write 3 connections in sentence form.
For example maybe you said that one of the things that you love to do is to travel, and
something that you know you’re good at is photography. An example of a sentence
that you could write is “Sharing my love of travel through photography”.

Let’s pretend that one of the things you said you love is to meet like minded people,
and one of the things you determined the world needs, is for people to feel more
connected to each other (especially since covid). A sentence that you might write to
make a connection between these things is “helping people feel less lonely by helping
them connect with others who like to do the same things”

This time, we’re going to be determining your Vocation
Vocation = What the world needs + what you can be paid for
Surprise, another example. If another one of the things you know the world needs is
for people to have a sense of direction in their lives and something that you can be
paid for is providing people with guidance & advice, then a sentence you would write
is “giving people advice about how to find a sense of direction & meaning in their
lives”. Sounds familiar, right?

Example time. Let’s say that one of the things you’re good at is communicating
complex ideas to people in an understandable way (random, I know), and something
that you can be paid for is teaching other people a skill they don’t know. Your
sentence would look something like “Helping people learn skills they know nothing
about, in a way that they can understand”.

Alright! You’ve made it through the most tedious part of this worksheet. At this point,
you should feel like things are starting to click. As if, even though we aren’t done yet,
these things are just making sense.
This is where the fun begins. What I want you to do now, is take a couple minutes to
truly reflect on everything you’ve written so far. Let these things internalize. You’ve
found so much clarity already. Just sit and observe all this, feel what calls out to you.
Once you’ve allowed yourself to sit with these things, what you’re going to do is start
connecting your Passion, Mission, Vocation & Profession. Write out a few sentences
that connect each of these things to one another. Don’t force this. Take your time.
Passion: Finding new ways to grow as a person and create a better life for myself, and
then sharing those new ways with others.
Mission: Help people have more faith & belief in themselves by sharing the power of
spirituality with them.
Vocation: Giving people guidance to help them find a sense of direction & meaning in
their lives.
A few sentences I would write to connect these things with one another are as follows.
“Constantly seeking to improve myself and my mind. Using that growth and
improvement to change my life for the better, and then explaining it to others in a way
that they can understand, and implement in their own lives. Helping people start
waking up to a life they are buzzing to life, start smashing their goals and become
more disciplined .
This is my reason for being. Now it’s time for you to find your own.
Give it a go!
Your ikigai:
This should feel right. It should feel like you’ve discovered exactly what already existed
within you, and that you just didn’t know it yet. If it doesn't, if it feels forced, or
unnatural, keep working at this worksheet. Keep playing around with what you’ve
already written, or add something new.
