The floor wax that are popularly known have side effects that are bad for the
health. It also has a pungent odor that irritates most people. Study shows that Mango peel
contains compound which eliminates radicals that could cause various health problems.
The purpose of this study is to prove that mango peels can be used as an alternative for
floor wax that reduce the wastes and harmful chemicals. The methods of this study are

Floor wax can play important role especially in cleaning. It was used to preserved
to make the wooden floors shiny. In today’s generation every product has been
commercialized and some people are looking for a product that are more natural and
cheaper. The researchers thought a way in which they can produced an alternative floor
wax. The researchers will test the utilizations of mango peels as an alternative floor wax.
This study is similar to the banana (musa acuminata) peels as an alternative floor
wax. The researchers try to test another peel of fruits, which is mango to make another
alternative floor wax. Mango also contains good fiber like banana, it also helps people
who used commercialized floor wax that it would not affect their health.
Objectives
a. This study aims to prove that mango peels can be recycled into good quality
mango peels and could give a good quality product like how the commercial floor wax
could give.

The king of the fruits, mango fruit is one of the most popular, nutritionally rich fruits
with unique flavor, fragrance, taste, and health promoting qualities, making it numero-
uno among new functional foods, often labeled as “super fruit”. Mango is one of the
delicious seasonal fruits grown in the tropics. A delicious fruit mango is enjoyed by all
aged people. On the other hand, mango skin is discarded. The tree is believed to be
Mango (Mangifera Indica) fruit belongs to the family of Anacardiaceae, a family that
also includes numerous species of tropical fruiting trees in the flowering plants such as
cashew, pistachio. The mango peel represents from 15% to 20% of the total weight of the
fruit. The aim of this review is to discuss the nutritional, functional, and nutraceutical
properties of mango peels, and their uses. Mango peel contains considerable content of
The total dietary fibre content in mango peels was in the range of 40.6-72.5%. Galactose,
glucose, and arabinose were the major sugars in dietary fibre fractions. Mango peels is a
good source of pectin. Pectin is fiber found in fruits. It is often used as a thickener in
cooking and baking. It is also sometimes used to make medicine (Journal of Functional
Foods, 2013).
The pectin of mango (Mangifera indica) peel is around 10-15%. A maximum pectin
yield of 21% was obtain by soaking finely ground defatted mango peels in sulphuric acid
solution (Rehman et al. 2004). Mango peels is a by-product obtained during mango
were used as source of polyphenols and pectin. Additionally, antioxidant and antifungal
activities were measured. The extraction condition to recover pectin and polyphenols at
the same time was using water, 121 °C/10 min at 1:40 w/v ratio (9.38 g/100 g dry peels
Mango peel is an agrowaste product and contains considerable amount of wax. This
has a good techno economic potential. The yield of crude wax was 0.95% on dry weight.
Melting point of crude wax was estimated to be 1706 Dalton. Composition of crude wax
ester (66.26%), fatty acids (4.58%), aldehyde (0.11%), and alcohol (0.22%) (Camp Pro
Mat Project, 2018). Candle can also use as an ingredient for floor wax making.
Floor wax can be made out of used candle by crushing it into small pieces and put
into the pan and heat it into the stove. Wait 2-3 minutes till they melted candles. After the
candle melted with kerosene add a mango peels and boil it for 15 minutes. After boiling
the mango peels put into the container and wait until it cool.
