Pre-lesson Teacher displays flash cards and pupils identify action / verbs.
5. Review the flashcards on the board from the pre-lesson task by checking pupils
know these expressions. Then mime each one and ask pupils to guess what you
are doing.
6. Ask pupils to stand in a circle. Say the action words and pupils mime. Ask pupils
Lesson Delivery to turn to their friend to do this in pairs.
7. Put the days of the week word cards around the classroom. Give each pupil an
action flashcard.
8. Say the sentence I (verb) on (day). The pupil with the action flashcard should
take it and stand by the correct day. Repeat for all cards.
4. Pupils return to their places. Tell pupils a sentence (e.g. I ride my pony on
Mondays).
5. Pupils do the Right or Wrong activity in pairs.

1. Identify the flashcards to revise topic vocabulary
2. Choose some flashcards of important topic vocabulary and place the flashcards face
down on a table in front of the class.
Pre-lesson
3. Pupils try to guess the word as it is revealed. Each time they guess correctly, put the
flashcard on the board. Continue until the pupils have guessed all the words. (teacher
draw bubble map)
1. Play or sing the alphabet song as in previous lesson.
2. Ask pupils What’s your name?
3. Have pupils ask each other what their names are.

4. Ask pupils how to spell their name: What’s your name?
5. Give each pupil a piece of card. Ask them to write their name on the card to complete
the sentence.
GUESS THE WORD
1. Choose 7 words related to the lesson.
2. Prepare small cards with the names or pictures.
Post Lesson 3. Put the words in a bag then take out a card don’t let the pupils see what it is.
4. Explain the word without saying the name or mime it.
5. Invite pupils to guess the word.
6. Continue with all the words until there is none left in the bag.
