Immobiliser ECU Unlock
Before you begin, make sure you can access the internet and can get onto JDS. You will
also require the engine serial number from the machine’s data plate beginning with ‘U’
2. Turn ON the ignition and open the EcoMax engine setup tool and choose the ‘Immobiliser’ tab.
3. Click ‘Read Current State’ and the immobiliser state will be displayed. It will display; Locked, Error State, Unlocked,
Virgin State or Married and Locked State.
4. Go to ‘Utilities’ and then ‘High Security Unlock’
8. Choose ‘Immobiliser’ and enter the engine serial number found on the machine data plate, make sure you use upper
case letter ‘U’ and not lower case ‘u’. Enter a reason as shown in the example below;
9. Click SUBMIT and then click the button to copy the RESPONSE value.
10. Now paste the response into the unlock tool using the ‘Paste RESPONSE From Clipboard’ button, then click ‘Apply’.
This will unlock the laptop.
11. Now return to the machine and click the ‘Un-set Immobiliser’ button on the engine tool.
12. A message will appear to ask you to switch OFF the ignition to complete the process. Click OK and turn OFF the
ignition. After key OFF, you MUST wait for the green LED to go red.
You must now disconnect the immobiliser ECU from the machine. If you do not remove
the ECU, the machine may have problems in the future.
13. Before you remove the ECU you must first remove the fuse for the immobiliser. The fuse is A4 and has a padlock
symbol.
14. Now start the engine and raise the boom and fit the safety strut. Switch OFF the engine and switch OFF the battery
isolator.
15. Remove the two screws and pull out the heater control panel
16. Pull off the heater control knob and remove the nut securing the spindle
17. Remove the 5 bolts and remove the cab side panel (if fitted)
20. The Immobiliser ECU is located on the cab in front of the heater unit. Disconnect the black harness connector from ECU.
21. Push the connector up into the cab so it remains dry. NOTE: If the connector gets wet or corroded, the CAN wires will cause
interference with other controllers on the CAN network.
22. Refit fuse A4 back into the fusebox.
23. Re-install the heater unit and panels.
