QUESTION 1: MACHINES

1.1 Briefly describe the working principle of the plate bending rolls. (3)

1.2 Briefly describe the working principle of the radial power saw. (2)

2.1 Calculate the length of material needed to manufacture a 45 × 45 × 8 mm


external angle-iron ring with a heel diameter of 8515 mm.

T = Thickness of the angle-iron
D = Heel diameter of the ring
