measure a pulp density using the Marcy scale

➢ Ensure one litre pulp container clean and free from dirty

➢ Turn the adjustment screw until the scale pointer is vertical, reading 1000 on the
dial outer ring. The marcy scale is now calibrated
➢ Remove the container of the bottom hook of the scale and pour out the water
contained
➢ Fill the container with the pulp until the scale mark of 1 liter
➢ Put the pulp container filled with pulp through the bottom hock of the scale

➢ Read the density of the pulp on the dial of the Marcy Scale
9.3. Clean up
➢ Clean the container, remove all traces of pulp
➢ Remove the Marcy scale and put it in its closet
➢ Store the screwdriver for the next weighing densities
