Reflection Topic: Planning for Graduation and Career

Part 1:

My desired degree is: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BS-BA)

I plan to take this many classes per term 8. It should take me 3 terms to finish my degree.

I am looking forward to these classes:

● Business Communications: I believe that this class will be very helpful in my future

career, as it will teach me how to communicate effectively in both written and verbal

form. I am also interested in learning about the different types of business

communication, such as presentations, negotiations, and public speaking.

● Personal Finance: This class will teach me how to manage my money wisely and make

sound financial decisions. I am looking forward to learning about budgeting, investing,

and retirement planning.

I am a little nervous or concerned about these classes:

● Accounting: I have never taken an accounting class before, so I am a little nervous about

how difficult it will be. However, I am also excited to learn about this important business

skill.

● Principles of Finance 2: I am also a little nervous about taking this unit, as I am not very

good at math. However, I know that this is a valuable skill for business students, so I am

determined to do my best.

Part 2:

Five transferable skills that I believe I have mastered:

● Communication: I am an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. I am able

to clearly and concisely express my thoughts and ideas, and I am also a good listener.

● Problem-solving: I am a creative thinker and I am able to solve problems effectively. I

am able to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions.

● Teamwork: I am a team player and I am able to work effectively with others. I am able to

communicate and collaborate with others, and I am also able to resolve conflicts.

● Leadership: I am a natural leader and I am able to motivate and inspire others. I am able

to set a vision and lead others to achieve it.

● Organization: I am an organized and efficient worker. I am able to manage my time

effectively and I am able to meet deadlines.

Here are five skills I think are important to my career that I have not mastered yet:

- Public speaking: I am not comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people. I plan

to practice public speaking by giving presentations in class and joining Toastmasters.

- Data analysis: I am not proficient in data analysis. I plan to learn data analysis by taking

courses and practicing with data sets.

- Coding: I am not proficient in coding. I plan to learn coding by taking courses and

practicing with coding challenges.

- Foreign languages: I do not speak any foreign languages. I plan to learn a foreign

language by taking classes and practicing with native speakers.

- Negotiation: I am not a good negotiator. I plan to improve my negotiation skills by taking

courses and practicing with role-plays.

Specific steps I plan to take to master the five skills I have not mastered yet:
- Programming: I plan to take online courses and read books to learn more about Python

and other programming languages. I also plan to start working on personal projects to

practice my programming skills.

- Machine learning: I plan to take online courses and participate in hackathons to learn

more about machine learning. I also plan to start working on machine learning projects to

practice my skills.

- Data visualization: I plan to take online courses and read books to learn more about data

visualization. I also plan to start working on data visualization projects to practice my

skills.

- Public speaking: I plan to join a Toastmasters club and take public speaking classes to

improve my confidence and delivery skills. I also plan to volunteer to give presentations

at work and other events.

- Leadership: I plan to take online courses and read books to learn more about leadership

and how to be an effective leader. I also plan to volunteer for leadership roles at work and

in other organizations
