About This Manual
This manual introduces the system in overview, diagram, operation step and examples for
you to understand and use this system flexibly and effectively.
The system is referred to as "iSolarSuite" hereinafter unless otherwise specified.
Target Group
This manual is intended for:

• Operators

• Managers

• Engineers
How to Use This Manual
This manual is briefly described by using the standard interface as an example. For specific
activated functions, refer to the content of the technical agreement or the contract.
Contents may be periodically updated or revised due to the product development. The
manual content of subsequent versions of the product may be subject to change. The latest
manual can be found at support.sungrowpower.com .
Symbols
Important instructions contained in this manual should be followed during installation,
operation and maintenance of the product. They will be highlighted by the following symbols.
The symbols listed below may be used in this manual. Please read carefully to make better
use of this manual.

1 System Description

1.1 Introduction

iSolarSuite is a platform for operation and maintenance personnel to manage the plant yield
and maintain the plant. The main services provided include smart IV curve diagnosis,
channel management, device management, plant management, Security Configuration and
license management.

1.2 Requirements

• Browser: Chrome 65 and above supported

• Resolution: 1920 x 1080 supported

• Microsoft Office: version 2007 or above

2 Login
This chapter introduces the login method of the iSolarSuite.

2.1 Login Steps

Prerequisite notes
Contact technically qualified personnel of SUNGROW to:

• Install hardware devices and deploy software

• Obtain server address, username, and password

Login method

step 1 Input the IP address of the server in the address bar of the browser to enter the login
interface as shown in the figure below.

step 2 Select the desired language in the upper right corner of the interface.

step 3 Enter the default password pw1111 and click Login.

2.2 License Authentication

After you have logged in, you need to apply for license authentication before you can use
the system normally. To apply for license authentication, you can:

step 1 Click System Management→License Management to enter the License Authentication


screen.

step 2 ClickCopy Serial Number .

Copy the software serial number and send it to the license manager for applying for the
license with the serial number.

step 3 Select the license.

step 4 Import the license.

Import the license and display the license information in the table.

If you have imported the wrong license, you can click the Clear button to clear the
imported file information.

In Chrome browser version 71, when importing the license, you need to switch the
input method to American keyboard.

step 5 Click the Save and Activate button. After the license is activated, other functional modules
of the system will be automatically displayed.

After successful activation, the prompt "Status: Activated" will appear.

4 Operation and Maintenance Management
Select Operation and Maintenance Management on the naviation bar to enter the
corresponding interface.

4.1 Smart IV Curve Diagnosis

Click Intelligent Analysis→Smart IV Curve Diagnosis to enter the corresponding


interface.
Main functions on this interface includes Unit Scan and Inverter Scan.

• Unit Scan: Diagnose the operation of all string inverters in this unit.

• Inverter Scan: Diagnose the operation of the string inverter.

Prerequisites

4.1.1 IV Curve Scan


step 1 Click Operation and Maintenance Management→Intelligent Analysis→Smart IV Curve
Diagnosis to enter the corresponding interface.

step 2 Choose Settings→Item Management to set component information.

step 3 ChooseSettings→Inverter Parameters to set the inverter information. The device name
and setting status can be searched in the search box.

1 Configure strings. Select the target strings.

2 (Optional) Configure the branch connector. Enable Branch Connector.

3 (Optional) Set the number of components connected to each string.

If users turn on Identical, the parameter settings configured for a PV will be


synchronized to other PVs. If users turn off Identical, all PV strings need to be set one
by one.

4 After finishing the configuration, click Confirm or Confirm and copy.

Click Confirm to end the inverter configuration. Click Confirm and copy to apply the
current configuration to the inverters of the same model in the plant.

step 4 Choose Settings→Plant Parameters to set the plant type. Click Selecting power plant
topography to select the topography according to the picture and text prompts.

step 5 Select Unit Scan or Inverter Scan.

step 6 Click Start Diagnosis to enter the corresponding interface. Enter the password, and click
Confirm.

After the scan is completed, the following information appears:

• Successful: indicates that the scan has succeeded.

• Details: indicates that the scan has failed. Click Details to view the fault code and failure
cause. If you have any questions, contact Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd.

• Not Diagnosed: indicates that none of devices has been scanned. Click Not Diagnosed
to view the details.

step 7 Click Scan Result to view the scan results.

On the scan result page, users can perform the following operations:

• Export various reports.

Report Type Description

– For all users.

Overview report – Records the number of abnormal strings, the fault rate and
the proportion of fault types for the plant, and analyzes the
overall status of the plant.

Operations and – For O&M personnel.

maintenance – Provides diagnosis results and locates the string fault,


report providing repair suggestion for on-site O&M personnel to
troubleshoot the fault.

– For professional technicians.


Diagnosis report
– Records detailed indicator data of the string and analyzes
string performance.

Select the report type and the unit,and the report generating progress can be viewed in
the report list in real time.

• Check IV curves.

• Check IV diagnosis results.

– If the diagnostic result is normal, click View in the Analysis and Suggestion column
to check detailed scan data.

– If the diagnostic result is abnormal, click View in the Analysis and Suggestion
column to check details about exceptions. If you have any questions, contact
Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd.

• Check IV curves.

• Upload the scan data to the server.

Step 2, 3, and 4 are required only for initial diagnosis. Skip these steps if IV curve
scan has been performed before.

4.1.2 Viewing Historical Diagnosis Results

On the Smart IV Curve Diagnosis interface, click View Task History in the upper right
corner.
In the row of a task, click an option in the Details column on the right to perform one of the
following operations:

Operation Description
Check the scan results delivered normally.
If a string connection failure is known and a repeated alarm
Click View is not needed, visit the IV Curve Diagnosis Results
interface and click Shield in the Analysis and Suggestion
column.
Click Scan Data View the data obtained through smart diagnostic scan.
Click Re-diagnosis Re-issue the scan task and add a scan record.
The system compares the re-diagnosis result with the result
of the last diagnosis and exports the comparison result to a

4.1.3 Uploading File

Function Overview
This function is used to upload the scanning data of IV diagnosis to the client server.
Prerequisites
Users have obtained the correct server address.

step 1 On the Smart IV Curve Diagnosis interface, click View Task History in the upper right
corner.

step 2 Click View on the corresponding Details operation bar, to view the scanning results.

step 3 Click in the upper right corner to enter the corresponding interface.

step 4 Select corresponding file, such as IV Diagnostic Raw Data or IV Diagnosis Report.

step 5 Select a transfer protocol and enter the obtained server IP address, server port, storage
path, user name, and password.

step 6 Click to perform connection detection. The interface will prompt Server connection is
normal after successful detection.

step 7 Click Start to Upload to upload the selected scanning information to the client server.

It may take some time, please be patient.

If the current window is closed, the uploading task will be executed on the
background.

5 System Tool(s)
Click System Tool(s) in the navigation bar to enter the corresponding function module.

5.1 Plant Debugging

Click System Tool(s)→Plant Debugging to enter the corresponding function module.


It mainly includes Channel Management, Device Management, Security Configuration
and Plant Management.

5.1.1 Channel Management

Click System Tool (s)→Plant Debugging→Channel Management to enter the


corresponding interface.
Main functions are as follows:

View information such as channel name, IP address and

• Channel number: An integral number, and usually starts


from 1, ranging from 1 to 20000.

Add channels • Channel name: Within 128 characters, otherwise the


redundancy will not be displayed.

• IP address: 32 bits, 4 segments, each segment includes 8


bits, indicated by decimal numbers. Each segment ranges
from 0 to 255, and segments are separated by ".".

• TCP port: Generally start from 2404, and each IP address


must have an only corresponding port.

Delete channels Select the channel to be deleted and click in the


operation bar on the right.

• Click In-batch Operation→Import in Batch to enter the


import interface.

• Click Select file to select the to-be-imported file. Click


Import.

The imported file must meet the following requirements:

– Channel number: Without repetition.

– Channel name: Without repetition.


Import channels in
batches – IP address: 32 bits, 4 segments, each segment
includes 8 bits, indicated by decimal numbers. Each
segment ranges from 0 to 255, and segments are
separated by ".".

– TCP port: Generally start from 2404, and each IP


address must have an only corresponding port.

– Protocol type: 0 represents IEC104, 1 represents


Modbus, and 2 represents IEC61850.

– Enabling status: 1 means yes, 0 means no.


Export channel Click In-batch Operation→Export to download the file (.xls)
information to the local.
Restart the data Click Restart the data collection program in the upper right
collection program corner.

5.1.2 Device Management

Click System Tool (s)→Plant Debugging→Device Management to enter the


corresponding interface.
The interface includes submenus such as device measuring point management,device type
management, device model management, Management of Model Measuring Point, Device
Manufacture Management and Device Manufacturer Management. The corresponding
operations of each management menu are as follows.

• Click the search bar at the top of the interface to query


device information according to device type,measuring point
name, measuring point type, measuring point code and

management information.

• Enable/Disable measuring points (in batches).

– Enable: For specific operations and instructions, contact


Sungrow Customer Service.

– Disable: For specific operations and instructions, contact


Sungrow Customer Service.
View device manufacturer information: View information such
as manufacturer name, manufacturer address and industry in
the function display area.
Device Manufacturer Query manufacturer information:
Management • Enter the manufacturer name in the condition box in the
upper left corner, select the industry, and click to view
the corresponding role information.

• Click to reset the conditions in the condition box.

Function Description
Add manufacturer information: Click Add in the upper right
corner, complete the information according to the page prompts,
and click Confirm.
Delete manufacturer information: Select the manufacturer to be

deleted and click in the operation bar on the right.


Modify manufacturer information: Select the role whose

information needs to be modified, click in the operation bar


on the right to enter the prompt page, and click Confirm.

5.1.3 Plant Management

Click System Tool (s)→Plant Debugging→Plant Management to enter the corresonding


interface.
Plant Management: Manage plants and devices in plants.

5.1.3.1 Plant Management

Main functions are as follows:

• Right click the plant list and then proceed according to the prompts to realize following
functions.

Functions Description
Fill in basic information
When filling in information, observe the following requirements:
Plant code: An integer whose length should be no more than 9
digits.
Plant name: The length should be no more than 50 characters.
Create new plants
Device ID: An integer whose length should be no more than 9
digits.
Plant Type: It is subject to license and cannot be modified.
Parameter configuration:
Configure parameters as needed.
Add devices Add devices to the current plant.
Modify the plant Modify basic plant information.
The S/N and forwarding addresses of all units in the plant are

5.1.3.2 Device Management

Select a device from the plant device list, right-click the device, and perform the following
functions as prompted.

Basic information

• Type of belonged device: Select the actual device type.

• Device ID: An integer whose length should be no more than 9

• Device name: The length should be no more than 50


characters (For easy identification of device types, it is
recommended the device name include the device type, for
example, "- Inverter#1". You can also choose other naming

• If a new inverter needs to support the IV scan function: find


measuring point 206 and set the SN; Find measuring point
639 and set the forwarding Modbus ID.

Perform this operation to delete the devices no longer needed in
a plant.
Delete device
After a device is deleted, the plant will not receive or transmit
information about this device.

5.1.4 Security Configuration

Select System Tool (s)→Plant Commissioning→Security Configuration to enter the


Isolation Device Configuration interface. Insight provides positive isolation, which allows
data transmission from the internal network to the external network, and prevents data
transmission from the external network to the internal network.

5.1.4.1 Isolation Device Configuration

Parameter Setting

1 Click System Tool (s)→Plant Commissioning→Security Configuration to enter the


corresponding interface.

2 Click Settings.

3 Click Modify to set the Intranet server.

4 Select the network port of the master to be configured. The system then fills in the IP
address and MAC address of the master automatically.

5 Configure an isolation rule.

• To add a rule, click Add Rule and enter the source address, source port, protocol,
etc.

• You can also modify an existing rule. Click in the operation column to delete the
set rule.

The above steps also apply to standby machine.

6 Click Confirm.
View Historical Records
View the historical configuration of isolation devices. Select the start and end time, after the
transmission ends, and click View to view corresponding historical records
Transmission Repair Configuration
If the data transmission from the intranet to the extranet is abnormal, supplementary
transmission configuration is required. After clicking Transmission Repair Configuration,
select the time period that requires supplementary transmission and click Begin
Transmission Repair to supplement the data.

5.1.4.2 Network Security Configuration

Procedure

1 Click System Tool (s)→Plant Commissioning→Security Configuration to enter the


corresponding interface.

2 Click Network Security Configuration tab.

3 Click Modify and configure parameters as required.

4 Click Confirm.

5.2 License Management

Click System Tool(s)→License Management to enter the corresponding interface.


This interface is used to configure license authentication to facilitate normal use of the
system. For detailed license authentication methods, please refer to"2.2 License
Authentication"。

6 Appendix

6.1 Quality Assurance

When product faults occur during the warranty period, SUNGROW will provide free service
or replace the product with a new one.
Evidence
During the warranty period, the customer shall provide the product purchase invoice and
date. In addition, the trademark on the product shall be undamaged and legible. Otherwise,
SUNGROW has the right to refuse to honor the quality guarantee.
Conditions

• After replacement, unqualified products shall be processed by SUNGROW.

• The customer shall give SUNGROW a reasonable period to repair the faulty device.
Exclusion of Liability
In the following circumstances, SUNGROW has the right to refuse to honor the quality
guarantee:

• The free warranty period for the whole machine/components has expired.

• The device is damaged during transportation by the user.

• The device is incorrectly installed, refitted, or used.

• The device operates in harsh conditions beyond those described in this manual.

• The fault or damage is caused by installation, repairs, modification, or disassembly


performed by a service provider or personnel not from SUNGROW.

• The fault or damage is caused by the use of non-standard or non-SUNGROW


components or software.

• The installation and use range are beyond stipulations of relevant international
standards.

• The damage is caused by unexpected natural factors.

For faulty products in any of above cases, if the customer requests maintenance, paid
maintenance service may be provided based on the judgment of SUNGROW.
