Course: IMAGE PROCESSING AND PATTERN CLASSIFICATION

Code: XXXXXX
4 Credits | Semester IV

A. Introduction: This course introduces students to the fundamentals of digital image

processing and pattern classification techniques. Students will learn about various
image processing algorithms, including filtering, segmentation, feature extraction, and
image enhancement. Additionally, the course covers pattern classification methods
such as supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and support vector
machines applied to image data.

B. Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, students will be able :

[CO.1].To understand the principles of digital image processing.

[CO.2].To learn various techniques for image filtering, segmentation, and enhancement.
[CO.3].To explore methods for feature extraction and representation in images.
[CO.4].To comprehend the basics of pattern classification and machine learning.
[CO.5].To gain practical experience in applying image processing and pattern classification
techniques to real-world problems.
