10.2 WATER SUPPLY PIPES AND FITTINGS

Cold and hot water pipes shall be Polypropylene
Random Co-polymer resins (PP Type 3 raw
material) PPR pipes for cold and hot water , and
be fixed to slabs, walls, beams or etc…with metal
straps or similar material. Unit price shall include
all assistance civil works and necessary fittings
such as T, bends etc. according to where shown
on the drawing. All water pipes shall be tested
with pressure of 10kg/cm2 (10bar) at the expense
of the contractor.
Unit price shall include, flushing, cleaning and
disinfection of the pipes with liquid Chlorine and all the
necessary assistance to the installation works.
Flushing has to be done to clean the pipeline from
debris and silts. Disinfecting has to be done with
liquid chlorin 8-10ppm. All water pipes shall be tested

10.3 WASTE, VENT AND RAIN WATER PIPES AND

ACCESSORIES
All domestic waste, vent and storm water pipe
lines shall be comply to BS 459, BS 4660, BS
5481 as appropriate, using double ring seals and
gaskets complying with BS 2394 uPVC, PN-6
pipes and shall be provided with a minimum slope
as stated in the drawing. Pipes and necessary
fittings shall be standard quality and be free from
damage during storage, construction and etc. Unit
price shall include all the necessary assistance
civil works, such as excavation cartaway, fixing or
hanging to walls, beams or slabs. etc., necessary

10.4 WATER PROFFING WORK

SPECIAL CHARACTERSTICS
Surface Preparation: Concrete surface must be clean and
free of dirt, films, coatings or other foreign matter. All
surface imperfections and protrusions are to be removed
and repaired. Structurally unsound and friable concrete
must be removed and repaired.
Responsibility: the contractor should provide the
approved product on site; store it properly in original
unopened packing in dry condition and away from
sunlight and scorching heat. In addition the application
should be made with professionals trained in the
preparation, mixing and application.

Testing: Pond testing for atleast 24 hours should be done

after the contructor has acomplished the water proffing
work. The surface should be re-treated if leakage
observed; and the test should be done on the repaired
surface.

10.4.1 Supply and coat XYPEX or Equivalent water proffing

as per manufacturers instruction for all wet areas,
toilets kichen, etc as per Engineer's instruction. The
contractor must consider the work as complete set and
provide appropriate measures for the connection b/n
pipes and concrete slab. After the completion of the
work the contractor should do ponding test using water
at level of 20cm from floor finish level for atleast 24

10.5 SITE WORK

in the sanitary site drawing. Provide 100mm thick sand
bedding material rammed and tamped and 150mm
thick approved material to cover the pipe all as per the
typical trench section and detail. Unit price shall include
all assistance civil works and necessary fittings such as
T, bends etc. according to where shown on the
drawing. All water pipes shall be tested two times the
working pressure or 100 meters head, which ever is
greater at the expense of the contractor.

10.4 WATER PROFFING WORK

SPECIAL CHARACTERSTICS

Surface Preparation: Concrete surface must be clean

and free of dirt, films, coatings or other foreign matter. All
surface imperfections and protrusions are to be removed
and repaired. Structurally unsound and friable concrete
must be removed and repaired.
Responsibility: the contractor should provide the
approved product on site; store it properly in original
unopened packing in dry condition and away from
sunlight and scorching heat. In addition the application
should be made with professionals trained in the
preparation, mixing and application.

Testing: Pond testing for atleast 24 hours should be

done after the contructor has acomplished the water
proffing work. The surface should be re-treated if
leakage observed; and the test should be done on the
repaired surface.

10.4.1 Supply and coat XYPEX or Equivalent water proffing

as per manufacturers instruction for all wet areas,
toilets kichen, etc as per Engineer's instruction. The
contractor must consider the work as complete set and
provide appropriate measures for the connection b/n
pipes and concrete slab. After the completion of the
work the contractor should do ponding test using water
at level of 20cm from floor finish level for atleast 24
hours. m2 1113 -

10.4.2 Supply and install TESTUDO or Equivalent, 4mm thick

bitumen plastometric water proofing, manufactured
from a rich mixture of bitumen and selected polymer
blended together to obtain excellent heat and UV
resistant membrane type water proofing as per
